The Chargers have signed RB Danny Woodhead to a 2-year deal. The 5'8, 195-pounder is just a change-of-pace guy on the ground, but he's a top-notch receiver out of the backfield. Woodhead has racked up 92 catches over the past 3 seasons in New England. He'll likely step into a similar role with the Bolts. If Woodhead is the only RB San Diego brings in this offseason, it'll be good news for RB Ryan Mathews. Meanwhile, the Pats are left with Shane Vereen and Leon Washington behind Stevan Ridley. Our money is on Vereen capturing the pass-catching role, which would put him squarely on the fantasy radar in PPR leagues.
Related Players: Leon Washington, Ryan Mathews, Shane Vereen
As expected, RB Danny Woodhead is active for tonight's clash with the Ravens. The Pats have no significant inactives for fantasy purposes.
Patriots injury reports usually consist of about 82 players listed as questionable. But Danny Woodhead and Chandler Jones are among the 5 guys listed as probable for Sunday's AFC title matchup with Baltimore. And that's it. Nice of them to finally clear things up for any fantasy owners still playing. Jones' ankle has been enough of a question mark that he reportedly wouldn't even reveal his status to his brother Arthur, who plays for the Ravens. That's certainly no shock coming out of Foxboro.
Related Players: Chandler Jones
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (thumb) graduated to a full practice on Thursday. It's confirmation that he'll play against the Ravens this weekend -- and that the thumb shouldn't be an issue. What's unclear if what kind of role Woodhead will play after RB Shane Vereen's breakout performance last week.
Related Players: Shane Vereen
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (thumb) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. Early-week reports had him likely to play against the Ravens this Sunday, and he's off to a good start. It's fair to wonder how that thumb injury will impact Woodhead's pass-catching ability though. He's also likely to lose more snaps to RB Shane Vereen.
The thumb injury Patriots RB Danny Woodhead suffered on Sunday isn't expected to keep him out of the AFC Championship Game this weekend. But Woodhead might have been leap-frogged on the depth chart by the impressive Shane Vereen. As always with the Pats, we won't know how the backfield will shake out until the game gets underway.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (abdomen) is active for today's game against the Broncos. Expect him to see his usual handful of touches.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (abdomen) was limited in practice this week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos. He's been going through this routine for a few weeks now and has yet to miss a game. Expect Woodhead to see his usual 5-8 touches this weekend.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (abdomen) is active for today's game against the Redskins. He's not a good bet for more than a handful of touches though.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (abdomen) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 14. He played through the injury last week and is fully expected to play against the Redskins this Sunday. Woodhead has averaged just 5 touches per game over the past 3 weeks though. He's not a recommended fantasy option.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (abdomen) is active for today's game against the Colts. He's only a desperation fantasy option for PPR leaguers.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (abdomen) was limited in practice this week and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts. He'll be a game-time decision. Averaging just 6 touches per game over the past 3 weeks, Woodhead shouldn't be in fantasy lineups anyways.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) is active for today's game against the Cowboys. He ended up missing just 1 week. He's been limited in practice, though, so we doubt he's at 100%. Woodhead isn't a recommended fantasy option today, regardless of format.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. The injury was supposed to cost him multiple weeks, so we're skeptical that he'll be at 100% if he does end up playing. Woodhead isn't a recommended fantasy option, even in PPR leagues.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday. It looks like he'll be ready for this weekend's game against the Cowboys. Prior to going down, Woodhead had seen just 15 total touches in his last 3 games, so he's not a fantasy option. His return puts a damper on RB Stevan Ridley's outlook though.
Related Players: Stevan Ridley
As expected, Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Jets. RBs BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Stevan Ridley will handle backfield duties.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Jets. It sounds like he could miss multiple weeks. Woodhead’s absence should mean a few more touches for RB Stevan Ridley.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) missed Wednesday's practice. He's not expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Jets. That should mean more touches for RB Stevan Ridley, who's a better pass-catcher than RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis.
Not surprisingly, the Patriots have not updated RB Danny Woodhead's status after he was forced from Sunday's game against the Raiders. But beat writer Ian Rapoport hears that Woodhead has a sprained ankle, but no torn ligaments or broken bones. "It's a week-to-week thing," Rapoport writes. After getting 15 touches in the season-opener, Woodhead has seen just 17 total in the past 3 games combined. He's just about fallen off the fantasy radar.
Patriots RB Danny Woodhead left in the 2nd quarter Sunday with a sprained left ankle. The team has yet to indicate if he'll miss any time. It shouldn't really matter to fantasy owners, though. Woodhead's impact has been small so far and isn't likely to increase with Stevan Ridley gaining more backfield touches.
