Playoff-long fantasy contests come down to pinpointing which teams will play the most games.
This year, in particular, figures to hinge on correctly picking the NFC champion. It’s a loaded side of the bracket, featuring 4 of the top 5 teams in Football Outsiders’ DVOA (Rams, Saints, Eagles and Vikings).
The Eagles, of course, have a big question mark at QB after losing Carson Wentz. You could make a strong argument for L.A., New Orleans or Minnesota to come out of the NFC. The rankings below assume a Saints over Vikings NFC Championship. New Orleans sports the league’s top rushing attack and the most experienced QB in the conference.
The AFC is more cut-and-dry, with the Patriots and Steelers the clear favorites to play for a trip to the Super Bowl. The Jaguars and Chiefs are quality teams but will be hard-pressed to win in Pittsburgh and New England, respectively.
We’re going with the Patriots to knock off the Steelers — something they’ve done in 5 straight meetings.
On to the rankings …
