Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey had successful surgery Tuesday morning on the torn meniscus in his right knee, according to the Florida Times-Union. Doctors said Jacksonville's top pick might be ready for the start of training camp. “That’s great news; that’s outstanding,” HC Gus Bradley said. “That’s what we had hoped for. We knew all of the scenarios. I’m excited for him.” Ramsey did have microfracture surgery on the same knee back in high school, but it held up through college. We'll see if he's ready for the start of camp and how the knee fares through the summer. Ramsey's much more of a factor for the team D than for IDP lineups after intercepting just 3 passes across 3 seasons at Florida State (including 0 last year).
The Jaguars announced Thursday that #1 pick CB Jalen Ramsey sustained a "small" tear in his right meniscus. We'll see what the team says about treatment and timetable for Ramsey's recovery. This makes 2 straight offseasons, though, of their top pick quickly suffering a knee injury. Last year it was DE Dante Fowler suffering an ACL tear. Even healthy, Ramsey's not necessarily an exciting IDP option because of his position.
The Jaguars nabbed DB Jalen Ramsey with the 5th pick in the NFL Draft. We'll see if they view him as a corner, a safety or some combo along the lines of Arizona's Tyrann Mathieu. Ramsey will be an OK pick from Round 3 on in dynasty fantasy football leagues with IDPs.
