Rams insider Joe Curley expects TE Tyler Higbee to be 2nd in line for targets this season, behind only the newly acquired Sammy Watkins. Higbee caught just 11 balls as a rookie last year but was an intriguing prospect coming out of Western Kentucky. The converted WR goes 6'6, 249 pounds and averaged 15.5 yards per catch in 4 college seasons. Higbee has been buzzing early in training camp and has some upside in new Rams HC Sean McVay's TE-friendly offense. Curley, by the way, has rookie WR Cooper Kupp 3rd on the target totem pole and WR Robert Woods 4th.
The Rams finally have themselves a true #1 WR. They traded CB E.J. Gaines and a 2018 2nd-round pick to Buffalo in exchange for WR Sammy Watkins. It's an aggressive move by a team that has poured resources into its offense this offseason. Watkins joins a WR group that includes free-agent signee (and former teammate) Robert Woods, rookies Cooper Kupp and Josh Reynolds and holdover Tavon Austin. A heathy Watkins is clearly the top dog here, though. Of course, he'll also be dealing with a QB downgrade from Tyrod Taylor to Jared Goff. Watkins' fantasy stock takes a bit of a hit with this move.
Adam Schefter reports that former Bills WR Robert Woods has reached a deal with the Rams. That will take the former USC wideout back to Los Angeles, but it lands him in 1 of the league's worst offenses. Woods has shown flashes at times and will turn just 25 in April. But we'll need to see a lot more from QB Jared Goff before finding any interest in Woods' fantasy stock with the Rams. Woods basically replaces Kenny Britt, who has reached a deal with the Browns. That's a lateral move at best for the L.A. offense -- and probably a downgrade in talent.
The forecast for today's Browns-Bills game calls for a slight chance of snow but winds of 20-30 mph. That's certainly enough to impact the passing games. Hopefully you're not relying on any part of Cleveland's passing attack. Downgrade Bills QB Tyrod Taylor and WR Sammy Watkins a tad, but both are still fine fantasy starters. Expect a heavy dose of RB LeSean McCoy today.
Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) is active for today’s game against the Steelers. He’s no better than a WR4 with Sammy Watkins back as Buffalo’s top target.
Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Steelers. He put in 3 limited practices this week, and HC Rex Ryan said Friday that Woods is “ready to roll.” He’s just a low-upside WR4 behind Sammy Watkins.
Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. That gives him a shot to play against the Steelers this weekend. Woods won't be a recommended fantasy starter, but his return would help QB Tyrod Taylor.
Bills WRs Robert Woods (knee) and WR Percy Harvin (migraines) are out for this weekend’s game against the Raiders. That leaves Marquise Goodwin and Justin Hunter behind Sammy Watkins, who isn’t expected to play a full slate of snaps.
Bills WR Robert Woods (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He didn't practice all week and has no timetable for return. Percy Harvin and Marquise Goodwin will join Sammy Watkins as Buffalo's top 3 WRs against a tough Jacksonville secondary.
Bills WR Robert Woods suffered a knee sprain in Sunday's win over the Bengals, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That sounds less serious than the injury could have been, but it also seems likely to cost Woods further game time. Losing Woods obviously doesn't help QB Tyrod Taylor's outlook for Week 12 against the Jags. Buffalo's run-pass threat sits top 15 among fantasy QBs so far, though, despite just 10 TD passes through 10 games. His schedule shapes up nicely for fantasy scoring the rest of the way, though a tattered WR corps (still without Sammy Watkins) adds risk. Missed time for Woods would leave more snaps for Percy Harvin, who operated as Buffalo's #2 wideout against Cincinnati. Harvin didn't look anywhere near his old, explosive self, however.
Bills WR Robert Woods went down with a knee injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game and was quickly ruled out for the day. That usually portends a serious injury. We'll look for an update tonight.
Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is questionable for the 2nd straight week. He played in Week 8 against the Patriots and caught 4 passes, then put in limited practices all week. We'd bet on Woods playing Monday night, but he's certainly not a good option against Seattle's terrific corners.
Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is active for today’s game against the Patriots. He was a low-upside fantasy play when healthy. The ceiling is even lower when he’s less than 100%.
Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is set to play against the Patriots today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Woods was limited in practice all week and won't be at 100% today. He's a low-upside WR3.
Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. He put in 3 limited practices this week and should play. At less than 100%, though, his fantasy ceiling is even lower than usual.
Bills WR Robert Woods (foot) put in a "very limited" practice on Thursday, according to HC Rex Ryan. It sounds like Woods is still iffy for this weekend's game against the Patriots. He'll be a low-upside WR3 if he suits up.
