Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger tweeted on Friday that he'll return for his 14th season in 2017. He had suggested earlier this offseason that he was considering retirement, although no one seemed to take it very seriously. Despite turning 35 last month and suffering an assortment of injuries, Roethlisberger remained effective last season. He ranked 7th among QBs in fantasy points per game -- albeit with some nasty home/road splits. Big Ben's return is obviously excellent news for RB Le'Veon Bell, WR Antonio Brown and the rest of Pittsburgh's skill-position guys.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger in a radio appearance on Tuesday wouldn't commit to returning for 2017 and implied that he's open to retirement. Big Ben turns 35 in March and has taken a beating throughout his 13-year career. We'd ultimately be surprised if he hung up his cleats now, but it's a reminder to dynasty owners that he's nearing the end.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger isn't listed on the final injury report. The foot injury that had him in a walking boot after last weekend's win doesn't look like it'll be a major issue in Kansas City on Sunday. The bigger concerns are Roethlisberger's extreme home/road splits and a ball-hawking Chiefs defense.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said Monday that an MRI showed that he "aggravated an old foot fracture" in Sunday's win over the Dolphins. He dealt with foot injuries both in 2010 and 2015. Big Ben added that this latest issue is "nothing severe ... I should be good to go." He'll start Sunday's game against the Chiefs, although the injury might impact his mobility. It adds more risk to a guy who's struggled on the road most of the season.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger's ankle "checked out OK," sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Doesn't seem to be a bad sprain," Rapoport added. There was concern when Big Ben was spotted in a walking boot after Sunday's win over the Dolphins, but that's often precautionary. Roethlisberger should be under center for this weekend's Divisional Round game in Kansas City.

Injury Predictor

Roethlisberger has had 23 documented injuries during his NFL career. Last season, he missed only 1 game with a torn meniscus in his left knee. He missed 4 games in 2015 with an MCL sprain to the same knee. Beyond that, he has been remarkable durable for a QB who plays with such disregard for his physical safety. He has averaged more than 14 games per season throughout his 13-year career.
