Packers HC Mike McCarthy on Friday ruled out WR Jordy Nelson for this weekend's game against the Cowboys. This was the most likely outcome all along considering Nelson broke 2 ribs in last Sunday's win over the Giants. We'd consider him no better than 50/50 for the NFC Championship if Green Bay gets there. Nelson's absence leaves Davante Adams and Randall Cobb as the Packers' top 2 WRs. Geronimo Allison figures to be next in line for snaps, with Jeff Janis as the #4 WR. TE Jared Cook and RB Ty Montgomery could also pick up extra targets with Nelson out.

Packers WR Jordy Nelson fractured 2 ribs in Sunday's game against the Giants, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Will take an incredible effort to play" vs. the Cowboys this weekend, Rapoport adds. HC Mike McCarthy said that Nelson will spend the week rehabbing before potentially practicing on Saturday. At this point, though, we're assuming he won't play in Dallas. That'll leave Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison as Green Bay's top 3 WRs. TE Jared Cook could also pick up extra targets.

The Packers didn't have an update on WR Jordy Nelson's rib injury after Sunday's win over the Giants. But HC Mike McCarthy admitted that he Nelson's availability for the Divisional Round in Dallas is in question. "I obviously have concern for Jordy," McCarthy said. Nelson was in obvious pain after taking a shot to the ribs in the 2nd quarter. He ended up taking a cart back to the locker room and was ruled out at halftime. We should learn more about his status over the next few days. Nelson's absence would leave Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison as Green Bay's top 3 WRs.

Packers WR Jordy Nelson is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. New York with a rib injury. Nelson took a shot from Giants DB Leon Hall in the first half. If he remains out, it'll give a boost to guys like Jared Cook, Randall Cobb, Geronimo Allison and Jeff Janis.

Update: Nelson was ruled out for the game at halftime.

Packers WR Jordy Nelson scored a pair of TDs in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. He totaled just 41 yards on 6 catches among 7 targets, but Green Bay benefited from 5 Russell Wilson INTs and often started with terrific field position. Nelson remains an every-week starter across fantasy formats.

Injury Predictor

A 31-year-old coming off a torn ACL certainly presents some risk. This guy has been a top 9 PPR WR when playing with QB Aaron Rodgers over the past 4 seasons and has a pair of top-4 finishes on his resume. Considering he’ll be over a year removed from the knee injury when the 2016 season kicks off, he’s certainly capable of returning to WR1 territory. That makes him a solid target at that WR11 ADP. If his price climbs much higher, though, the risk might start to outweigh the reward.
