The Niners have placed WR Pierre Garcon on IR with the neck injury he suffered Sunday at Philadelphia. GM John Lynch said in a Thursday radio interview that Garcon will not be a candidate to return this season. That leaves Marquise Goodwin and Aldrick Robinson as the team's top 2 WRs. It's a passing game to avoid in fantasy. Garcon will be heading into his age-32 season in 2018, with a dead-cap number likely too big to make him a cut candidate. We'll see if the neck injury factors into any retirement consideration.

49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) did not practice on Wednesday. We still don't have any details on his injury, but he's clearly in danger of missing this weekend's game against the Cardinals. We'll see if Garcon is able to get on the field on Thursday.

The 49ers have inked WR Pierre Garcon to a 5-year deal. HC Kyle Shanahan reportedly pushed hard for this one. The duo worked together for 2 years in Washington, the 2nd of which produced a huge 113-1,346-5 line for Garcon. The 30-year-old has remained productive and is coming off his 2nd career 1,000-yard campaign this past year. He looks like the clear #1 target in San Francisco's passing game. We'll see who's chucking him the rock, but volume alone will give Garcon a chance for at least WR3 production.

Washington WR Pierre Garcon drew a team-high 6 targets in Sunday's win over the Eagles, catching 5 of them for 59 yards and a TD. Garcon has proved to be the best bet for consistent volume, especially with TE Jordan Reed limited or out. He'll remain a solid PPR play the rest of the way in fantasy football lineups.
