43 catches for 327 yards helped salvage Rams RB Todd Gurley's 2016 season. Only 14 RBs caught more passes. But ESPN's Alden Gonzalez expects Gurley's pass-catching production to dip under new HC Sean McVay. Gonzalez believes McVay will use free-agent acquisition Lance Dunbar similarly to how he used Chris Thompson in Washington. Thompson caught 84 passes over the past 2 years, while Robert Kelley, Matt Jones and Alfred Morris combined for just 49. Gurley, of course, is a much better receiver than that trio. His 6.13 yards per target ranks 24th among 50 RBs who saw 50+ looks over the past 2 seasons. If Gurley's passing-game volume declines in 2017, we wouldn't expect it to decline by much. He remains the best offensive weapon on the Rams roster.
Rams RB Todd Gurley got his team on the board with a 3-yard TD in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Falcons. That made the score 42-7. Gurley was mostly bottled up while the game was still in question. He finished with 61 yards and the score on 16 attempts -- a 3.8 yards-per-carry average that'll actually boost his season-long mark. He added 3 catches on 4 targets for 22 yards, benefitting from RB Benny Cunningham's absence. Gurley has settled in as a floor play, providing at least 70 total yards in 11 of 13 games. But he's reached 100 yards just once and scored only 5 times all year. He'll barely be a RB2 in Seattle this coming week. If you survive that one, Gurley gets a plus draw against the 49ers in Week 16.
Rams RB Todd Gurley (thigh) is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. He was limited in Friday’s practice, but we never heard any concern about his status. Gurley is fine to get into fantasy lineups as a middling RB2.
Rams RB Todd Gurley (thigh) is questionable for this weekend's game against the Dolphins. He was added to the injury report on Friday and limited in practice after full workouts the 2 days prior. Gurley was also listed as questionable last week before playing, and we've heard nothing to suggest that he'll miss Sunday's game. We'll look for an update on Sunday morning. Dolphins-Rams doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET.
