Eagles HC Doug Pederson admitted that he's thought about resting starters in Week 17 if his team has the NFC's #1 seed wrapped up. "You just make the best decisions for your football team and if that means resting a guy, you rest a guy, or two or three," he said. Philly would clinch the #1 seed with a win over the Raiders next Monday -- or with a Vikings loss to the Packers on Saturday. Fantasy owners who play Week 17 might want to start lining up replacement options for your Eagles. The good news is that we don't need to worry about any teams resting starters in Week 16 (when all fantasy seasons should end).

Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play in Sunday’s plus matchup against the Giants’ 32nd-ranked TE defense. Ertz is a high-end TE1 for that one.

Eagles TE Zach Ertz has cleared the concussion protocol. The announcement came straight from HC Doug Pederson (rather than the team's Twitter account). So, barring a setback, Ertz will be back for Sunday's dream matchup against the Giants' 32nd-ranked TE defense.

Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) is inactive for today’s game against the Rams. He made some progress through the protocol this week, so fantasy owners can tentatively expect him back for Week 15. With Ertz sidelined back in Week 9, TEs Trey Burton and Brent Celek both saw 4 targets. Burton is the better fantasy bet today, but he’s a low-end spot starter vs. a tough Rams TE defense.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) a "long shot" to play against the Rams this afternoon. Rapoport adds that "his status may hinge on how he feels this morning" -- which doesn't make much sense considering he's either cleared the concussion protocol or he hasn't. Regardless, Ertz needs to be on fantasy benches now. Trey Burton is the best fantasy bet among Eagles TEs. But Brent Celek will also be involved, and the Rams rank 8th in fantasy points allowed to TEs.

After making it through all 16 games in both of his first 2 NFL seasons, Ertz has had some trouble since. He needed sports hernia surgery prior to the 2015 campaign and missed a game later that year with a concussion. This past season, Ertz displaced his ribs in the opener and missed the next 2 games. He also suffered an MCL injury while at Stanford back in 2011.
