Commanders WR Curtis Samuel racked up 9 receptions for 100 yards in Thursday's loss to the Cowboys. He drew 27.3% of the team's targets, accounted for 32.1% of the receptions, and delivered 33.3% of the yards. No teammate exceeded 5 catches or 52 yards in the game. The big receiving line followed consecutive games that Samuel finished with just 6 and 5 receiving yards. He has reached 50 yards five times now in 11 games. But should we just chalk Thursday's numbers up to variance? Samuel's not likely to deliver another stat line that big over his final four fantasy outings. But he can be a low-level starting option the rest of the way. Samuel had caught 4+ passes in five straight games before missing Week 9 with an injury. Samuel came back for the mere three receptions across two games before the big one against Dallas. The Cowboys have been tough in coverage but also play outside WRs tougher than slot WRs. Week 13 will bring a Miami defense that has fared better against slot WRs than outside but also been a positive matchup for opponent WRs overall. Miami's offensive scoring ability also gives that game shootout potential -- or a chance Washington is chasing once again. Either case would drive up passing volume. Washington gets its bye in Week 14. But then come two more opponents (Rams and Jets) that allow more production to slot WRs than outside. A Week 17 matchup with San Francisco doesn't look good for anyone. Though Samuel's short average target depth (6.4 yards) could help his volume in another matchup that's likely to find the Commanders trailing. He carries some low-level upside in deeper leagues, as a WR3 or PPR flex. Just don't overrate Samuel's production in Dallas.

Commanders WR Jahan Dotson was held off the stat sheet in Week 10. Sam Howell attempted 44 passes and threw for 312 yards, but Dotson garnered only 2 targets. He led the WR corps in snaps (58) and routes run (44). Sunday also marked the return of Curtis Samuel, who saw 6 targets coming off a toe injury. A tough rest-of-season schedule – plus a Week 14 bye – makes Dotson more of a deep league spot starter going forward.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel suffered a toe injury in the second half of Sunday's game vs. the Eagles and did not return. He was questionable heading into this one with a foot injury. It's unclear if the toe issue is related. We'll look for an update on Samuel's status.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (foot) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles, but we'll see how Samuel is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (illness) has been removed from the Week 3 injury report. He'll play vs. the Bills tomorrow. Samuel has caught all eight of his targets for 73 scoreless yards through two games, adding another 19 yards on two carries.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (turf toe) landed just 2 catches on 6 targets for 31 receiving yards in Sunday’s win vs. the Cardinals. Teammate Curtis Samuel led the team in receiving with 54 yards and a perfect 5-for-5 on his targets. McLaurin has dealt with this toe injury dating back to the preseason and practiced in a limited fashion for much of this week. It’s no surprise he got out-targeted by WR Jahan Dotson (5 for 40 yards on 7 targets) in Week 1, though we expect McLaurin’s impact to increase as he becomes further removed from the ailment. An underrated takeaway to consider before their Week 2 matchup vs. the Broncos is that TE Logan Thomas led the Commanders with 8 targets in this game—something to remember for those in deeper leagues.

Commanders WR Jahan Dotson roped in 4 of 6 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown in a loss against the Giants on Sunday. Dotson is starting to heat up again after a hamstring injury derailed his rookie season in October. The former Penn State product has now seen 15 targets in the Commanders' last 2 contests. Veteran Terry McLaurin also had a solid outing, hauling all 6 of his targets for 70 yards. Curtis Samuel saw muted success by comparison, though 3 receptions for 44 yards is a respectable stat line. The Commanders WR corps will face off against a 49ers defense that presents a middle-of-the-pack matchup in terms of adjusted fantasy points per game in 2022. That said, QB Taylor Heinicke's ability to deliver the ball will be diminished by the strength of the 49ers' stout defensive front, relegating all Commanders WRs into flex consideration at best with McLaurin being the favorite. It would be best to look elsewhere for WR help in Week 16 outside of deep leagues.

Commanders WR Jahan Dotson saw his playing time rebound in his 2nd game back from a hamstring injury Sunday. He matched WR Terry McLaurin in running a route on 82% of Taylor Heinicke's dropbacks. WR Curtis Samuel trailed them by just 2 routes, returning the trio's playing time to where it was at the start of the year. McLaurin still led the team with 7 targets, catching 4 for 55 yards. Dotson and Samuel finished with just 2 targets and 1 catch apiece. Samuel, though, scored the team's only offensive TD on a 10-yard run. A Week 12 date with Atlanta presents upside for everyone on offense.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel put in a full practice Friday and carries no injury designation into Sunday's game against the Titans. He missed the 1st 2 days with an illness but looks set to go in an upside matchup Samuel has led Washington in targets each game.

Commanders QB Carson Wentz threw for just 170 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Cowboys. WR Curtis Samuel once again led the team in targets (7), catching 4 balls for 38 yards. TE Logan Thomas, WR Terry McLaurin and TE John Bates tied for 2nd with 6 targets apiece. Rookie WR Jahan Dotson led the squad with 43 receiving yards and snagged the lone TD but left early with a hamstring injury. Dallas looked like a negative matchup heading in. A Week 5 home date with the Titans presents rebound potential.

Commanders HC Ron Rivera admitted to "some concern" about WR Curtis Samuel's "overall football conditioning and shape." Samuel, of course, basically missed the entire 2021 season with a lingering groin injury that required offseason surgery. He participated in OTAs, though, so this news is a bit of a surprise. “The ultimate goal is really the regular season more than anything else,” Rivera said. “This has nothing to do with last year’s groin injury or anything like that. This is just about the plan for him specifically.” We'll continue to keep a close eye on Samuel's status leading up to Week 1. He's just a late-round flier in fantasy drafts right now.

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel is participating in this week's OTAs. That's notable because he was available for only 84 snaps all last season due to a lingering groin injury that required offseason surgery. “I’m great," Samuel told reporters Tuesday. "Y’all saw me flying around out there." Samuel faces added target competition with the arrival of 1st-round rookie WR Jahan Dotson. But Washington gave him a 3-year, $34.5 million contract with $23 million guaranteed last offseason, so we're expecting him to be a significant part of the offense -- barring injury.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin (concussion) isn't listed on the final Week 15 injury report after putting in 3 full practices this week. He'll play vs. the Eagles on Tuesday night. It remains unclear who McLaurin's QB will be for that one. Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen remain on the COVID list as of Monday afternoon but have until 4 pm ET on Tuesday to be activated. WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) is out for Week 15.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. It's a new injury for Samuel, who had been dealing with a groin issue since the spring. It's been a lost season for the man who signed a 3-year, $34.5 million deal in March.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. There's still no timetable for his return from this lingering groin injury. Samuel isn't worth holding on benches outside of the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) isn't listed on the final injury report. He was a full-go in Friday's practice and will play his usual role against the Packers this weekend. WRs Curtis Samuel (groin) and Cam Sims (hamstring) are out again for Week 7.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel is "week to week" after aggravating his lingering groin injury in Sunday's loss to the Saints, HC Ron Rivera said. Samuel hasn't been able to shake this issue and can be dropped in all but the deepest of fantasy football leagues.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Saints with a groin injury. This is presumably the same issue Samuel has been dealing with since the spring. Stay tuned for an update.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. "We have to be cautious with it," HC Ron Rivera said, referring to Samuel's groin injury. Samuel played just 37% of the offensive snaps in his Washington debut last week and can't be trusted in fantasy lineups until we see him in something close to a full-time role.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) has been activated from IR and will practice on Wednesday, according to The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala. Samuel has barely practiced since injuring his groin back in June. He appeared to aggravate the injury a few days prior to the season opener. We'll see if the issue is finally behind him now. Samuel is a fine stash in deeper fantasy leagues but shouldn't be in starting lineups until we know he's a full go.
