The Jets have signed K Josh Brown, who was just released by the Rams. Brown will enter a camp battle with incumbent Nick Folk. Our money is on Brown, who sports a 81% career FG conversion rate, compared to Folk's 78% mark. Neither guy will be a particularly attractive fantasy option though.
The Giants have released K Josh Brown, a move long overdue since the domestic violence allegations against him. The G-Men will move forward with K Robbie Gould, who connected on 1 FG and 2 XPs in his team debut last week.
The Giants have announced that K Josh Brown won't travel with them to London and plan to "revisit the situation when they return," according to ESPN's Jordan Ranaan. The only change to the Brown "situation" is that a journal entry in which he admitted abusing his wife has come to light, which only makes it tougher for the team to keep ignoring the charges that have already been hanging over Brown for more than a year. Fantasy owners should go ahead and drop Brown for a replacement this week. Don't be surprised if Brown doesn't kick again for the Giants -- at least this season. This reminds us of the Ray Rice "situation" in Baltimore.
Giants K Josh Brown has been suspended 1 game for violating the league's personal conduct policy. It's unclear what Brown did to draw the ban. He'll be a fine fantasy option starting in Week 2, but he's not worth a pick in drafts now.
Update: Brown's suspension was the result of a domestic violence charge against him in 2015.
The Giants have signed K Josh Brown. Stepping in for an injured Mike Nugent in Cincinnati last year, Brown drilled 13 of 14 FGs in 5 games. He sports a career 81.3% FG conversion rate. Considering the Giants provided Lawrence Tynes 39 FG attempts last year -- 2nd most league-wide -- Brown will be on the radar as a fantasy starter in 2013. Speaking of Tynes, the free agent will start looking for a new home for the upcoming season.
The Jets have released K Josh Brown. They'll stick with Nick Folk as their kicker. Folk has gone 4 of 4 on FGs this preseason but connected on just 76% last year. On an uninspiring offense, he's not a recommended fantasy option.
