Redskins TE Jordan Reed suggested that he fractured his foot at some point. "The cleats prior to this were more narrow and pressing on the bone that I had the fracture in," he said, discussing his new footwear. "These cleats are wider and the orthotics are softer so I don't feel it." It's possible that Reed misspoke or was misquoted, but it sure sounds like he let it slip that his foot was broken. Of course, we don't know when it happened or what the exact injury was. The Redskins have been saying Reed is dealing with a toe issue. (And he might have that, too.) The whole situation is murky. What we know is that Reed remains 1 of the biggest injury risks in fantasy football. He's also led TEs in PPR points per game in 2 straight seasons. He's the ultimate risk/reward pick at his 4th-round ADP.
Redskins TE Jordan Reed (rib/sternum) is inactive for tonight’s game against the Raiders. That puts TE Vernon Davis on the spot-start radar. He posted lines of 2-50-1, 6-79, 5-47 and 1-13 in the 4 games Reed missed last year.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Washington TE Jordan Reed will be a "game-time call ... but is more unlikely to play" Sunday night against the Raiders. Schefter calls it a rib injury, though various reports have also said shoulder and sternum this week. Bottom line: Reed looks very iffy. If you don't have a better option than waiting on him, then you need to at least grab Vernon Davis as insurance.
Redskins TE Jordan Reed (rib/sternum) told reporters on Friday that he’ll be a game-time decision for Week 3. He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and is officially listed as questionable. Reed said that he has full range of motion in his injured shoulder — but also admitted that he’s still in pain. Fantasy owners are obviously in a tough spot with Redskins-Raiders not kicking off until 8:30 pm ET on Sunday night. If you’re hoping to use Reed —and he’ll be a risky play if active — you need to have a late-game alternative lined up. Jared Cook and Vernon Davis are viable options.
Redskins TE Jordan Reed (rib/sternum) returned to a limited practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's workout. "Pain is becoming manageable," HC Jay Gruden said afterward. "We'll see how he does tomorrow." Reed still sounds iffy for Sunday night's game against the Raiders -- and we might not know his official status until 7 pm ET. Fantasy owners would be wise to add Vernon Davis as a backup plan if Reed ends up inactive.
Redskins TE Jordan Reed (chest) did not practice on Wednesday. He's reportedly dealing with a minor injury but isn't a lock to play against the Raiders on Sunday night. Check back tomorrow for another update.
