The Colts have placed QB Kerry Collins (concussion) on IR.  Indy will roll with QB Dan Orlovsky as Curtis Painter's backup the rest of the way.  Collins' NFL career is likely over (for real this time).

Colts QB Kerry Collins missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday.  The team has yet to update his status, but it's believed that he suffered a concussion last weekend.  It's looking like he'll miss this Monday night's game against the Bucs.  QB Curtis Painter will start in his place but obviously isn't a fantasy option.  Collins hasn't been great, but we probably need to downgrade Indy's pass-catchers even further with Painter under center.

QB Kerry Collins has announced his retirement from the NFL.  “The past several months have brought much introspection, and I have decided that while my desire to compete on Sundays is still and always will be there, my willingness to commit to the preparation necessary to play another season has waned to a level that I feel is no longer adequate to meet the demands of the position," Collins said.  A free-agent this offseason, he was a long-shot to land a starting job.  Collins finishes his 16-year career with 40,441 passing yards -- 11th all-time -- along with 206 TDs and 195 INTs.

Titans beat writer Jim Wyatt believes QB Kerry Collins will start Sunday's game against the Dolphins.  QB Vince Young (ankle) was limited in practice all week and didn't take many reps with the 1st-team offense.  "We’ll warm him up (Sunday) and see how he does,’’ Fisher said of VY.  Tennessee plays at 1 pm ET, so we'll know who starts by noon.

Despite owner Bud Adams' cries for QB Vince Young, QB Kerry Collins is under the assumption that he'll be at the helm when the Titans take on the Jaguars this Sunday.  Collins says HC Jeff Fisher has given him no indication that a change is coming this week.  While that might be true, expect Young to be under center within a couple weeks.

The Tennessean is reporting that Jeff Fisher would not discuss his starting QB situation. At 0-6, Collins is not a guy to build a franchise on. Of course, Vince Young isn't either. Regardless of who plays QB going forward, the Titans' passing game is not likely to help many fantasy teams. Stay away, unless you have a roster emergency to address.

Titans QB Kerry Collins was benched in the 4th quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Colts.  He finished 19 of 32 for 164 yards and 1 INT, while leading his team to just 9 points.  His replacement, QB Vince Young, might have been even worse.  He finished 0 for 3 and 2 of those were almost intercepted.  We're betting the team gives Collins one more shot against the Patriots next week, but that's really just a lesser of two evils at this point.

The Titans used their 1st round draft choice on North Carolina WR Kenny Britt. The Titans have not had good luck with many of the WRs they have brought in the past few years, but they are hoping things are different this time around. Britt is a big target (6'3, 218 lbs) with serviceable speed who isn't afraid to make the tough catches across the middle of the field.

NFL.com reports QB Kerry Collins signed a 2-year deal worth $15 million with $8.5m guaranteed. A nice chunk of change for the 15-year veteran. Collins will go into camp as the starter and Vince Young will have to rip the job away from him. Stranger things have happened. Collins was only a 58% passer last year. His 80.2 QB rating was worse than Brett Favre's, Jason Campbell's, or Joe Flacco's.
