Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRsigns with Raiders
The Raiders have signed WR/KR Josh Cribbs. A few teams passed on him earlier this offseason because of concerns about the knee he had surgery on after the 2012 season. Cribbs won't have much of an offensive role in Oakland, but he'll be a big boost in the return game.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRfailed Cards' physical
WR Josh Cribbs still has yet to sign with the Arizona Cardinals after failing the team's physical. USA Today's Mike Garafolo reports that Cribbs' agent said his client had meniscus surgery after the season and has yet to fully recover. The Cards reportedly plan another physical in a few weeks and will then decide whether to sign the special-teams maven.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRsigns with Cardinals
The Cardinals have signed WR/KR Josh Cribbs. He'll provide a major boost in the special teams game. Still regarded as one of the top kick returners in the league, Cribbs finished 3rd last year with 1,178 yards. His 27.4-yard average was 10th among players with at least 10 returns. As a WR, Cribbs will be no better than 4th on Arizona's depth chart -- and a non-factor in fantasy.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRoffensive role expected to grow
Browns WR Josh Cribbs revealed that the team is installing new plays to get the ball into his hands. "I can't give nothing away, but they put something in that's special to me and that's all I can say about that,'' Cribbs said. "Coach is really trying to target me and the coaches are really making an opportunity for me to get the football more.'' Cribbs also hinted that he may get some carries in the Wildcat this weekend. He has just 1 carry so far this season, but he did catch 5 balls last week and has scored in 2 straight contests. Cribbs is definitely worth monitoring, but he's still only a fantasy option in return-yardage leagues.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRWR reps will be scaled back
According to beat writer Terry Pluto, the Browns' new coaching staff isn't expected to use Josh Cribbs at WR much. Cribbs set career-highs last year with 23 catches and 292 receiving yards, but it sounds like he'll focus more on special teams this season. He's only a fantasy option in return-yardage leagues.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRloses fantasy value
The NFL owners have approved a rule change that will push kickoffs up 5 yards to the 35-yard line. A change to have touchbacks come out to the 25-yard line was also on the table, but that was voted down. Still, the rule change obviously hurts the value of special teams aces like Devin Hester, Josh Cribbs, and Leon Washington. A 5-yard advantage for the kickoff team means a lot more touchbacks. From a fantasy perspective, it puts a major dent in the value of return guys in return-yardage leagues.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRinactive
Browns WR Josh Cribbs (toes) is inactive for today's game against the Jaguars. He was listed as questionable but never really had a shot to play. Downgrade Cleveland's D/ST.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRa game-time decision for Week 11
Browns WR Josh Cribbs (toes) did not practice all week, but HC Eric Mangini calls him a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Jaguars. We can't imagine Cribbs playing -- let alone playing well -- after dislocating 4 toes last weekend.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRdislocates 4 toes
Browns WR Josh Cribbs dislocated 4 toes during Sunday's game against the Jets. It's unclear how much time he'll miss. Cribbs doesn't contribute much on offense, but he's one of the best return men in the league. Downgrade Cleveland's D/ST.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRsuffers arm injury
Browns WR Josh Cribbs left Sunday's game against the Jets with an arm injury. His return is considered questionable.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRactive
Browns WR Josh Cribbs (concussion) is active and will start against the Saints today. With WR Mohamed Massaquoi (concussion) out, Brian Robiskie will start at Cleveland's other WR spot.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRreturns to practice Friday
After sitting out both Wednesday and Thursday, Browns WR Josh Cribbs (concussion) returned to practice on Friday. Barring a setback, it looks like he'll play against the Saints on Sunday.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRconcussion is minor
The Browns are calling the concussion WR Josh Cribbs suffered Sunday minor. Early signs point towards Cribbs playing in Week 7, but he'll still need to pass his baseline concussion tests.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRleaves with head injury
Browns WR Josh Cribbs left Sunday's game after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers LB James Harrison. We're guessing he suffered a concussion and that he won't return.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRcould be busy in Week 6
With rookie QB Colt McCoy expected to start for the Browns on Sunday against the Steelers, the team is expected to run plenty of plays out of the Wildcat formation. That'd put Josh Cribbs under center. He had success in the package against Pittsburgh last season, rushing for 87 yards in Cleveland's Week 14 victory. And Cribbs thinks they'll use the formation even more this Sunday. "It is a full package," Cribbs said. "It is not like last year. It is more than enough to run a complete football game out of it." Cribbs is still just a desperation WR3 or flex play.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRactive
Browns WR Josh Cribbs (ankle) is active for today's game against the Ravens. He was downgraded to questionable on Saturday, so he clearly won't be at 100% today.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRnow questionable for Week 3
Browns WR Josh Cribbs (ankle) has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens. With WR Brian Robiskie out, Cribbs was slated to start. And there was talk that he'd be a big part of the gameplan. Now it's unclear if he'll be able to go. He's not a fantasy option outside of return-yardage leagues.
Joshua Cribbs UNS -WRwill be "all across the field"
Josh Cribbs may officially be listed as a WR now, but he doesn't want to be pigeon-holed into that position. "I'm comfortable at [receiver] but I don't want to say that's going to be my position, because I'd be doing myself and the team a disservice," Cribbs said. "That's not my only position and that's not the position you'll mostly see me at. It's going to be all across the field, and that's how I help my team." Besides WR, we're expecting Cribbs to play Wildcat QB and even some RB this season. Still, he's only a late-round flier in your fantasy draft.
