signs with RaidersThe Raiders have signed WR/KR Josh Cribbs. A few teams passed on him earlier this offseason because of concerns about the knee he had surgery on after the 2012 season. Cribbs won't have much of an offensive role in Oakland, but he'll be a big boost in the return game.

failed Cards' physicalWR Josh Cribbs still has yet to sign with the Arizona Cardinals after failing the team's physical. USA Today's Mike Garafolo reports that Cribbs' agent said his client had meniscus surgery after the season and has yet to fully recover. The Cards reportedly plan another physical in a few weeks and will then decide whether to sign the special-teams maven.

signs with CardinalsThe Cardinals have signed WR/KR Josh Cribbs. He'll provide a major boost in the special teams game. Still regarded as one of the top kick returners in the league, Cribbs finished 3rd last year with 1,178 yards. His 27.4-yard average was 10th among players with at least 10 returns. As a WR, Cribbs will be no better than 4th on Arizona's depth chart -- and a non-factor in fantasy.

offensive role expected to growBrowns WR Josh Cribbs revealed that the team is installing new plays to get the ball into his hands. "I can't give nothing away, but they put something in that's special to me and that's all I can say about that,'' Cribbs said. "Coach is really trying to target me and the coaches are really making an opportunity for me to get the football more.'' Cribbs also hinted that he may get some carries in the Wildcat this weekend. He has just 1 carry so far this season, but he did catch 5 balls last week and has scored in 2 straight contests. Cribbs is definitely worth monitoring, but he's still only a fantasy option in return-yardage leagues.

WR reps will be scaled backAccording to beat writer Terry Pluto, the Browns' new coaching staff isn't expected to use Josh Cribbs at WR much. Cribbs set career-highs last year with 23 catches and 292 receiving yards, but it sounds like he'll focus more on special teams this season. He's only a fantasy option in return-yardage leagues.

loses fantasy valueThe NFL owners have approved a rule change that will push kickoffs up 5 yards to the 35-yard line. A change to have touchbacks come out to the 25-yard line was also on the table, but that was voted down. Still, the rule change obviously hurts the value of special teams aces like Devin Hester, Josh Cribbs, and Leon Washington. A 5-yard advantage for the kickoff team means a lot more touchbacks. From a fantasy perspective, it puts a major dent in the value of return guys in return-yardage leagues.

dislocates 4 toesBrowns WR Josh Cribbs dislocated 4 toes during Sunday's game against the Jets. It's unclear how much time he'll miss. Cribbs doesn't contribute much on offense, but he's one of the best return men in the league. Downgrade Cleveland's D/ST.

could be busy in Week 6With rookie QB Colt McCoy expected to start for the Browns on Sunday against the Steelers, the team is expected to run plenty of plays out of the Wildcat formation. That'd put Josh Cribbs under center. He had success in the package against Pittsburgh last season, rushing for 87 yards in Cleveland's Week 14 victory. And Cribbs thinks they'll use the formation even more this Sunday. "It is a full package," Cribbs said. "It is not like last year. It is more than enough to run a complete football game out of it." Cribbs is still just a desperation WR3 or flex play.

now questionable for Week 3Browns WR Josh Cribbs (ankle) has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Ravens. With WR Brian Robiskie out, Cribbs was slated to start. will be "all across the field"Josh Cribbs may officially be listed as a WR now, but he doesn't want to be pigeon-holed into that position. "I'm comfortable at [receiver] but I don't want to say that's going to be my position, because I'd be doing myself and the team a disservice," Cribbs said. "That's not my only position and that's not the position you'll mostly see me at. It's going to be all across the field, and that's how I help my team." Besides WR, we're expecting Cribbs to play Wildcat QB and even some RB this season. Still, he's only a late-round flier in your fantasy draft.
