Joel Dreessen DEN -TE

joins the Broncos

The Broncos have added free-agent TE Joel Dreessen.  Emerging as a reliable secondary option in Houston over the past 3 seasons, Dreessen compiled 1,191 yards and 11 TDs.  He's not a special athlete but does possess reliable hands.  As it stands now, he'd open 2012 as Denver's starting TE.  The Broncos are still reportedly going after TE Jacob Tamme though.

rib injury not serious

Texans HC Gary Kubiak says TE Joel Dreessen's ribs are just bruised, and that he "should be fine" for Week 14.  But with TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) also expected back, Dreessen won't be a fantasy option.

has rib injury

Texans TE Joel Dreessen suffered a rib injury during Thursday night's game against the Eagles.  He never left the contest, but beat writer John McClain believes Dreessen may have cracked a rib or two.  His status for Week 14 is uncertain.  But with TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) set to return, Dreessen wasn't going to be a fantasy option anyways.

Joel Dreesen expected to be Texans' starting TE
3 years ago

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Joel Dreesen is expected to be the starting TE for the Texans, since Owen Daniels is expected to miss the rest of the season. Don't make the assumption that Dreesen will be a starting quality TE though. It is very possible that WR Kevin Walter starts to see more targets in Daniels' absence. For now, expect Dreesen to be a backup fantasy player with upside to be a borderline starter.
