Joel DreessenDEN -TEDreessen out 2 weeks
Broncos TE Joel Dreessen suffered a setback with the knee he had surgery on back in June. He's expected to be sidelined 2 weeks. It doesn't sound like Dreessen is in danger of missing Week 1, but he remains a weak fantasy option. Dreessen posted a 41-356-5 line last year, finishing 27th among TEs in fantasy points. He figures to fall down the rankings in 2013 with Wes Welker in town.
Joel DreessenDEN -TEDreessen had minor knee surgery
Broncos HC John Fox revealed that TE Joel Dreessen recently underwent knee surgery. "Just a little knee procedure, scope, done, just to clean it up," he said. It doesn't sound like anything major. Dreessen will be sidelined for the rest of spring practices but should be ready by the time training camp rolls around. He doesn't figure to be much of a fantasy factor in 2013, though. Dreessen posted a 41-356-5 line last year, finishing 27th among TEs in fantasy points. Look for his numbers to drop this year with WR Wes Welker in town. We won't be drafting Dreessen or fellow Broncos TE Jacob Tamme this summer.
Joel DreessenDEN -TEjoins the Broncos
The Broncos have added free-agent TE Joel Dreessen. Emerging as a reliable secondary option in Houston over the past 3 seasons, Dreessen compiled 1,191 yards and 11 TDs. He's not a special athlete but does possess reliable hands. As it stands now, he'd open 2012 as Denver's starting TE. The Broncos are still reportedly going after TE Jacob Tamme though.
Joel DreessenDEN -TErib injury not serious
Texans HC Gary Kubiak says TE Joel Dreessen's ribs are just bruised, and that he "should be fine" for Week 14. But with TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) also expected back, Dreessen won't be a fantasy option.
Joel DreessenDEN -TEhas rib injury
Texans TE Joel Dreessen suffered a rib injury during Thursday night's game against the Eagles. He never left the contest, but beat writer John McClain believes Dreessen may have cracked a rib or two. His status for Week 14 is uncertain. But with TE Owen Daniels (hamstring) set to return, Dreessen wasn't going to be a fantasy option anyways.
Joel DreessenDEN -TEJoel Dreesen expected to be Texans' starting TE
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Joel Dreesen is expected to be the starting TE for the Texans, since Owen Daniels is expected to miss the rest of the season. Don't make the assumption that Dreesen will be a starting quality TE though. It is very possible that WR Kevin Walter starts to see more targets in Daniels' absence. For now, expect Dreesen to be a backup fantasy player with upside to be a borderline starter.
