re-joins the JetsThe Jets have added WR Braylon Edwards. He was let go by the Seahawks last week. Edwards posted a 53-904-7 line with the Jets back in 2010. But he's caught just 23 balls in 19 games since. If Edwards' knees are right, he should quickly move into New York's WR rotation. But he won't be a fantasy option down the stretch.

released by SeahawksThe Seahawks have released WR Braylon Edwards. He caught just 8 balls for 74 yards in 10 appearances this season. Although he's only 29 years old, Edwards' knee problems have become chronic. We're not expecting him to be a fantasy factor in 2013.

knee tightened upUpdating a previous item, Seahawks WR Braylon Edwards was reportedly deactivated for today's game when his knee tightened up this morning. Edwards has a lengthy history of knee problems, so it's a definite concern. Regardless of his health, though, Edwards isn't worth owning in fantasy.

a healthy scratchSeahawks WR Braylon Edwards is inactive for today's game against the Lions. It appears he's a healthy scratch. Edwards has just 5 catches since his 5-catch Week 1 outing. If you haven't done so yet, this is your queue to drop him in fantasy. WRs Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are starting out wide for Seattle.

3rd on initial depth chartSeahawks WR Braylon Edwards is listed 3rd on the team's initial depth chart. “Like any good player, he just has to get comfortable with the offense,” WRs coach Kippy Brown said of Edwards. “But that will come with time. And he’s already shown good playmaking ability, and we’re pleased with that.” Edwards has consistently made "explosive plays" in camp, according to beat writer Eric Williams. And he hauled in a 39-yard TD in the team's preseason opener. We think he'll end up making the team, but Edwards is far from a lock for a starting job. Seattle's WR situation remains fluid. Slot man Doug Baldwin is the only guy locked into a role.

will join the SeahawksFree-agent WR Braylon Edwards will reportedly ink a deal with the Seahawks today. The move makes plenty of sense for Seattle. They can't count on a full season from WR Sidney Rice (concussions, shoulders), and WR Golden Tate has yet to live up to his 2nd-round pedigree. Edwards worked out for both the Seahawks and Dolphins last week and reportedly looked healthy after being nagged by a bum knee last season. The 29-year-old is just 2 years removed from a 904-yard, 7-TD campaign with the Jets. While we wouldn't expect him to hit those numbers in 2012, we do like Edwards' odds of beating out Golden Tate for a starting job.

released by 49ersWR Braylon Edwards announced via Twitter that he's been released by the 49ers. "I was released today by the 49ers due to my injury that required more time to rehab and hasn’t allowed me to re-sync with the offense," his official statement reads. Edwards was a complete bust in San Fran this year. He missed 6 games with knee and shoulder problems and managed just 15 catches for 181 yards in the 9 games he did appear in. Edwards will likely need to settle for a 1-year, prove-it deal on the free-agent market this offseason.
