latches on with RaidersThe Raiders have signed QB Trent Edwards. He'll compete with Kyle Boller for the team's backup job but would need an injury to starter Jason Campbell to see the field this year.

wearing a splint on thumbJaguars QB Trent Edwards was spotted wearing a splint on his injured thumb on Wednesday. He revealed that he has a bad sprain, but that nothing is structurally wrong with the thumb. Edwards is hoping to be ready in time for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He's in line to start with QB David Garrard dealing with a concussion.

claimed by JaguarsThe Jaguars have been awarded QB Trent Edwards off waivers. He'll step in as David Garrard's backup. And with how poorly Garrard has played this year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Edwards get some playing time this season. Of course, that'd be bad news for Jacksonville's skill-position players.

releasedThe Bills have released QB Trent Edwards. They'd been trying to trade him since the offseason but unsurprisingly found no takers. One of the most skittish QBs in the league, Edwards will have trouble finding a home this season. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will continue to start for Buffalo, while QB Brian Brohm becomes the backup.

the "front-runner" for starting jobESPN's Adam Schefter calls Bills QB Trent Edwards the "front-runner" for the team's starting job. We've heard this multiple times since Bills camp opened last week. Look for Edwards to be under center for Buffalo come Week 1, but he's still a weak QB2 option even in the deepest of leagues.

opens minicamp as starterBills QB Trent Edwards took all the 1st-team reps as the team opened its minicamp today. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm will each get their chance to work with the starters, but it looks like Edwards is the early favorite to be under center come Week 1. The positional battle is virtually irrelevant to fantasy football though. None of these guys are worth a roster spot on your squad.

Trent Edwards' days in Buffalo numbered? The Bills plucked QB Brian Brohm off the Packers' practice squad and signed him to a 2-year deal on Thursday. Beat writer Allen Wilson believes it could signal the end of the road for QB Trent Edwards in Buffalo. This being his 3rd year, the Bills were counting on Edwards making big strides. Instead, he's regressed. Brohm, a 2nd-round pick back in 2008, could find himself as the team's starter next season.

Trent Edwards back to the bench?Bills HC Dick Jauron would not commit to QB Trent Edwards as his starter after Sunday's loss. He said he'd like to watch the game tape and then make a decision on Wednesday. At this point, the decision is irrelevant as far as fantasy football goes. Neither QB should be near your starting lineup, and WRs Lee Evans and Terrell Owens are shaky plays regardless of who is under center.

Bills fire Dick JauronAccording to NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, the Bills have fired HC Dick Jauron. This has been a long-time coming. It's unclear who will replace him for the time being. While the move is unlikely to help the Bills much this year, it's a step in the right direction. Another note: depending on who takes over, QB Trent Edwards could keep his starting job this week.

Trent Edwards officially named starterBills QB Trent Edwards has officially been named the team's starter for Sunday's game against the Titans. It's a nice matchup, but Edwards has shown nothing this season to make us feel comfortable with recommending him as a fantasy option.

Trent Edwards could start Week 10As reported on his Twitter page, Adam Schefter believes that Bills QB Trent Edwards will regain his starting job after the team's Week 9 bye. The Bills offense hasn't provided any useful fantasy options since Fred Jackson was doing well in Weeks 1 & 2. Edwards should only be used in an emergency.

Trent Edwards feels "ready to go"Bills QB Trent Edwards participated in practice on Monday and told reporters after that he feels "ready to go" for this weekend’s game against Tennessee. Edwards stated that he expects to be cleared to play, but he hasn’t been informed of whether or not he will start. He currently has a QB rating of 73.0 and is averaging 164 passing yards per game -- numbers he will be looking to improve upon against a banged up Titans secondary. Edwards has not been a valuable fantasy option thus far and shouldn’t be counted on to put up any substantial numbers if he is cleared to play.

Trent Edwards outBills QB Trent Edwards (concussion) did not participate in Friday's practice. He's been out all week and won't play against the Panthers on Sunday. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will start.

Trent Edwards already ruled out for Week 8According to wgr550.com, Bills HC Dick Jauron announced this morning that QB Trent Edwards was cleared to resume physical activity and will start to practice on Wednesday, but that he would not start this Sunday and would not dress for the game. Ryan Fitzpatrick, whose numbers have been underwhelming in two Buffalo victories since taking over for Edwards in the first quarter two weeks ago, will get his second straight start at home this Sunday vs. Houston. Jauron was non-committal about whether Edwards would regain his starting job when he is ready to return, saying they would cross that bridge when Edwards is healthy.

Trent Edwards status uncertainThe AP is reporting that Bills QB Trent Edwards sustained his second concussion in the past 2 years against the Jets on Sunday. His first concussion happened in Week 4 last season. Edwards' status for Sunday's game against the Panthers is uncertain. HC Dick Jauron said, "We'll take that day to day and see how he comes out of that thing." QB Ryan Fitzpatrick only completed 40% of his passes aftering entering the game against New York. Not that you'd start him, but Edwards should retain his job when healthy.

Trent Edwards likely outBills QB Trent Edwards (concussion) was not able to practice or attend team meetings on Wednesday. He's not expected to play this week against the Panthers. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will draw the start. It doesn't really help or hurt WR Terrell Owens and WR Lee Evans' value, although it looks like Fitzpatrick is willing to take more shots downfield.
Trent Edwards PHI -QB
Trent Edwards still not practicingBills QB Trent Edwards was at the team's facilities today, but not to practice. "He was over here to visit with our doctors," HC Dick Jauron explained. "He’s doing better. He’s feeling better, but he’s not practicing obviously." QB Ryan Fitzpatrick took all the 1st-team reps. He's expected to start against the Panthers on Sunday.

Bills to scrap no-huddle?Profootballtalk.com is reporting that the Bills are scrapping the no-huddle offense and returning to a traditional attack. The Bills haven't huddled at all this season, including the preseason. Dick Jauron has said only that they need to "put Trent [Edwards] in the best position to succeed." Whether or not they huddle is unlikely to make much of a difference - Edwards is playing behind a hideous offensive line and is a mental mess right now. He's unstartable at this point.
