Derek Hagan OAK -WR

pushing for starting spot

Bills WR Derek Hagan seems to be making a serious run at the #2 WR job.  "He's working his tail off and pushing hard to be a big part of this offense," HC Chan Gailey said.  Hagan flashed at the end of last year with a 7-catch, 89-yard outing in the season finale.  He's never been more than a league-average receiver, though, so it's tough to get excited about his fantasy potential.  We'd still consider Donald Jones the favorite to open the season as Buffalo's #2 WR, but the situation is worth monitoring.

Derek Hagan OAK -WR

a healthy scratch

Raiders WR Derek Hagan is a healthy scratch for tonight's game against the Broncos.  It's surprising considering Hagan was working with the 1st-team offense earlier this week.  He remains well off the fantasy radar.  With WR Louis Murphy (groin) also out, Jacoby Ford, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, and Chaz Schilens are Oakland's top-4 WRs tonight.

Derek Hagan OAK -WR

getting 1st-team reps

Raiders WR Derek Hagan has been getting reps with the 1st-team offense in practice this week.  He earned some extra playing time with an impressive preseason.  But Oakland will employ a rotation at WR, with Hagan, Jacoby Ford, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, and Chaz Schilens all working in.  Ford is the only guy worth a spot in fantasy lineups at this point.

Miami rookie WR gets 1st-team reps

The Miami Herald reports Dolphins rookie WR Derek Hagan took first-team snaps this week - alongside Marty Booker - while Chris Chambers nursed a minor leg injury. Hagan is obviously ahead of Kelly Campbell, Wes Welker, and fellow rookie Devin Aromashodu on the depth chart. The ex-Arizona State star has pro-ready skills and we wouldn't be surprised to see him make some sort of impact later in the season when Booker's ankles start to betray him again.
