Shaun HillDET -QBre-signs with Lions
QB Shaun Hill agreed to a new 2-year deal with the Lions on Saturday. The deal keeps him backing up Detroit starter Matthew Stafford. Hill has proved fantasy-worthy when Stafford went down with shoulder injuries. He's not a draftable commodity in any but the deepest of leagues, though.
Shaun HillDET -QBhad back surgery
Lions QB Shaun Hill revealed that he underwent back surgery earlier this month. "It's kind of been bugging me for a while, but last year I was able to get through the season," Hill explained. "I had a little injection before the season, and it helped me out and got me through it. This year, the injection didn't quite help, so I opted for the surgery." The procedure must have been relatively minor because Hill was able to put in limited workouts this week. Doctors say he should be back to 100% in 4-6 weeks. Hill will return to Detroit as the backup to the injury-prone Matt Stafford.
Shaun HillDET -QBwill start Week 16
Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) will start against the Dolphins. He was able to practice all week and should be able to make all the throws today. Hill is a weak QB2 option, but his return is great news for WR Calvin Johnson and TE Brandon Pettigrew.
Shaun HillDET -QBlikely to start Week 16
While the Lions have yet to officially name a starting QB for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Shaun Hill is expected to get the nod. He took the majority of the 1st-team reps in practice this week and has out-played QB Drew Stanton this season. Hill isn't a recommended fantasy option this week, but his return is good news for Detroit's passing game.
Shaun HillDET -QBtakes 1st-team reps Wednesday
Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) worked with the 1st-team offense on Wednesday. Barring a setback, he'll start against the Dolphins this weekend. Hill is only a fantasy option in 2-QB leagues, but his return is good news for WR Calvin Johnson and TE Brandon Pettigrew.
Shaun HillDET -QBlooks like a game-time decision
Lions HC Jim Schwartz says the team may not decide on a starting QB until Sunday morning. They'll essentially be waiting on QB Shaun Hill, who is recovering from a broken finger. If he's healthy enough, he'll likely start against the Dolphins. While QB Drew Stanton played well last week, Hill's return would be good news for WR Calvin Johnson and TE Brandon Pettigrew.
Shaun HillDET -QBactive as backup
Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) is active as the team's backup today. He should be ready for Week 16. Meanwhile, QB Drew Stanton gets another start today against the Bucs.
Shaun HillDET -QBon track to return for Week 15
Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) was able to throw with " zip and accuracy" at practice on Wednesday, per beat writer Tom Kowalski. According to Kowalski, Hill will be reinserted into the starting lineup this weekend if he continues to throw well at practice. That'd be excellent news for WR Calvin Johnson.
Shaun HillDET -QBexpected to miss a month
The Lions are expecting to be without QB Shaun Hill (finger) for about a month. They don't plan on placing him on the IR at this point, but that could be an option down the road. Feel free to drop Hill in all fantasy formats. QB Matt Stafford (shoulder) actually has a better chance of playing again this season than Hill. In the meantime, Drew Stanton will start at QB for Detroit.
Shaun HillDET -QBout indefinitely with broken finger
Lions QB Shaun Hill is out indefinitely with a broken right index finger. He won't need surgery, but the team is reportedly considering placing him on IR. Hill definitely won't be ready for this Sunday's game against the Bears. QB Drew Stanton will start in his place. It's bad news for WR Calvin Johnson and TE Brandon Pettigrew.
Shaun HillDET -QBdealing with finger injury
Lions QB Shaun Hill was held out of Tuesday's practice and was spotted with a splint on his right index finger. It's unclear if he's in danger of missing Sunday's game againt the Bears, but it's a concern whenever a QB is dealing with an injury to his throwing hand. We should have another update on his status on Wednesday.
Shaun HillDET -QBwill start Week 10
Lions HC Jim Schwartz confirmed that QB Shaun Hill (forearm) will start Sunday's game against the Bills. Hill was a valuable fantasy asset earlier this season, ranking 4th among QBs from Week 2 to 5. With all sorts of weapons at his disposal, consider him a viable half of a QB-by-committee the rest of the way.
Shaun HillDET -QBin line to start Week 10
Lions QB Shaun Hill (forearm) was practicing with the 1st-team offense on Wednesday. He's still unable to take snaps from under center, but beat writer Tom Kowalski believes Hill will be ready to start Sunday's game against the Bills. It'd be great news for WR Calvin Johnson. We'll continue to update this situation throughout the rest of the week.
