The Rams have named QB Shaun Hill their Week 11 starter. It’s a change of heart for HC Jeff Fisher, as he said on Monday that Austin Davis would remain under center. Instead, he’ll turn to the 34-year-old journeyman. Hill looked awful in preseason action and lasted just 1 half in the season-opener before suffering a thigh injury. He’s certainly someone to avoid in fantasy, while the Denver defense remains locked in as a high-end option.

Rams HC Jeff Fisher announced Wednesday that QB Austin Davis will remain the starter going forward.  QB Shaun Hill is healthy, but Davis has played too well over the past 3 games to head back to the bench.  He's completed a sparkling 72.3% of his passes and averaged 8.0 yards per attempt.  The Rams will remain a run-heavy offense, though, leaving Davis as a low-end QB2.  He does have upside beyond that this week in a plus matchup against the Eagles.

Rams QB Shaun Hill (quad) is active for today's game against the Bucs, but QB Austin Davis is expected to start.  Stay away from the situation in fantasy football.

Rams QB Shaun Hill is active for the Week 2 game against the Buccaneers.  That helps the Rams offense more than Austin Davis starting would have, but there's still not much to like about the fantasy values with St. Louis.

Rams QB Shaun Hill (quad) is a game-time decision for Week 2. He put in a limited practice on Friday and is officially listed as questionable. We won’t know St. Louis’ starter – Hill or Austin Davis – until 3 pm on Sunday, but you should be avoiding the situation in fantasy anyways.

Rams QB Shaun Hill strained his quad in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.  His "status is in doubt" for this weekend's game against the Bucs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.  Hill struggled before leaving the opener, completing 8 of 13 passes for 81 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT.  Replacement Austin Davis wasn't much better, going 16-of-23 for 192 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT.  You're best off avoiding the Rams passing game altogether right now.

Rams QB Shaun Hill was replaced by QB Austin Davis to the start the 2nd half of Sunday's game against the Vikings.  St. Louis announced Hill's departure as a result of a thigh injury, but he might have been benched for performance.  He finished the 1st half 8-of-13 for 81 yards and 1 INT.  The Rams QB situation should obviously be avoided in fantasy.

Rams QB Sam Bradford has re-torn his left ACL, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.  Bradford suffered the injury Saturday night, and the official diagnosis arrived Sunday afternoon.  It's the same injury that ended Bradford's 2013 prematurely.  This time, St. Louis has QB Shaun Hill ready to step into the starting role -- rather than last year's backup, Kellen Clemens.  Hill has delivered as a fantasy passer in the past, stepping into Detroit's pass-happy scheme in 2010 for an injured Matthew Stafford.  The switch from Bradford to Hill should mean no change in the fantasy outlooks for the Rams' other offensive players.  Like Bradford, Hill's not much of a fantasy football draft option, but keep him in mind for potential streaming during the season -- especially in DFS leagues.

Rams QB Sam Bradford left Saturday's 3rd preseason game early after hurting his left knee.  Bradford writhed in pain after what looked like a minor hit from a Browns defender and then left the field under his own power.  ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported that "initial" testing indicated no ACL damage, but colleague Adam Schefter reported that those tests weren't conclusive.  Backup QB Shaun Hill played just 1 series before exiting, which makes it seem like the Rams are trying to play it safe.  The left knee, of course, is where Bradford tore the ACL last season.  We'll keep an eye on his official diagnosis, though the switch from Bradford to Hill might not make much difference to the fantasy outlooks for anyone else on the St. Louis offense.

According to insider Jason La Canfora, the Lions aren't yet sure whether QB Matt Stafford (leg) will be ready for Week 4.  We're still waiting to hear the results of his MRI.  The good news is that it sounds like Stafford avoided a multi-week injury.  If he can't play against the Vikings on Sunday, QB Shaun Hill will get the start.

QB Shaun Hill agreed to a new 2-year deal with the Lions on Saturday. The deal keeps him backing up Detroit starter Matthew Stafford. Hill has proved fantasy-worthy when Stafford went down with shoulder injuries. He's not a draftable commodity in any but the deepest of leagues, though.

Lions QB Matt Stafford (ankle) was dressed-out for Wednesday's practice.  He jogged, stretched, and threw the ball, but didn't participate in team drills.  "Looks sore but ok," beat writer Chris McCosky tweeted.  We'd put Stafford's odds of playing against the Broncos this Sunday at a little over 50%.  We won't have a good read on his status until Friday at the earliest though.  QB Shaun Hill took the 1st-team reps in practice today and would start if Stafford can't.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford doesn't sound certain that he'll be ready for Sunday's game against the Broncos.  "Just a sprain, I guess. It's kind of in a weird spot," Stafford said.  "We're treating it, doing the best we can, trying to get it as healthy as possible for a chance to play this week."  He probably won't practice much this week and could end up as a game-time decision.  If Stafford can't go, QB Shaun Hill would get the start.

Lions QB Shaun Hill revealed that he underwent back surgery earlier this month.  "It's kind of been bugging me for a while, but last year I was able to get through the season," Hill explained.  "I had a little injection before the season, and it helped me out and got me through it.  This year, the injection didn't quite help, so I opted for the surgery."  The procedure must have been relatively minor because Hill was able to put in limited workouts this week.  Doctors say he should be back to 100% in 4-6 weeks.  Hill will return to Detroit as the backup to the injury-prone Matt Stafford.

Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) will start against the Dolphins.  He was able to practice all week and should be able to make all the throws today.  Hill is a weak QB2 option, but his return is great news for WR Calvin Johnson and TE Brandon Pettigrew.

While the Lions have yet to officially name a starting QB for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Shaun Hill is expected to get the nod.  He took the majority of the 1st-team reps in practice this week and has out-played QB Drew Stanton this season.  Hill isn't a recommended fantasy option this week, but his return is good news for Detroit's passing game.

Lions QB Shaun Hill (finger) worked with the 1st-team offense on Wednesday.  Barring a setback, he'll start against the Dolphins this weekend.  Hill is only a fantasy option in 2-QB leagues, but his return is good news for WR Calvin Johnson and TE Brandon Pettigrew.
