The Jets have released WR Santonio Holmes. He was due a $1 million roster bonus on Thursday, in addition to his $8.25 million 2014 salary. The move was a no-brainer for the Jets. Holmes' 4-year run in New York was a major disappointment. He scored 14 times across the first 2 seasons but totaled just 1,400 yards. Holmes went down with a Lisfranc injury just 4 games into the 2012 campaign. He was never right this past year, finishing with a 23-456-1 line in 11 games. Holmes just turned 30, and while he should be healthier in 2014, there are serious concerns about this guy's passion for football. We'll see what kind of interest he draws on the open market, but we're not optimistic about his 2014 fantasy football value. The Jets are expected to add a couple WRs in free agency and/or the draft.
Brian Costello of the New York Post reports that Jets WR Santonio Holmes has left the game against the Dolphins with what "looks like an upper body injury." Holmes will turn 30 in March and is clearly nearing the end. His litany of injuries this season will help push him down the 2014 WR rankings. We'll see if he returns to the Jets or heads elsewhere.
Jets HC Rex Ryan said WR Santonio Holmes' snaps will continue to be limited as he deals with foot and hamstring issues. Holmes played just 2 snaps last Sunday, finishing without a target. He's obviously not a fantasy option.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes was active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. But if you didn't watch closely, you wouldn't have known it. Holmes played just 3 snaps and finished without a target. “It was coach’s decision,” Holmes said afterward. “(I had) limited plays coming off an injury. We wanted to monitor that and make sure everything is OK for the rest of the season.” Holmes is still struggling with a bum hamstring, and his surgically repaired foot isn't at 100% either. He obviously can't be trusted in fantasy the rest of this season.
WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring, foot) is active for today’s game against the
Dolphins. He only put in a limited
practice on Wednesday and isn’t at 100%.
He’s not a recommended fantasy starter.
WR Jeremy Kerley (elbow) is inactive again.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring, foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. He only put in a limited practice on Wednesday and will be a game-time decision. "I'm concerned," HC Rex Ryan admitted. He added that Holmes' hamstring is a bigger issue than the foot. At less than 100% in a dysfunctional passing game, Holmes shouldn't be in fantasy lineups.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Ravens. His practice reps were limited this week, so he won’t be at 100%. Holmes isn’t a recommended WR3 fantasy start.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is probable for Sunday’s game against the Ravens. His practice reps were limited this week, though, so he won’t be at 100%. Holmes isn’t a recommended WR3 fantasy start.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. HC Rex Ryan didn't express any concern about his Week 12 status on Wednesday afternoon, but that hammy still isn't at 100%. It makes Holmes a risky WR3 option in fantasy.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (foot, hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Bills. He’ll be on a snap count in his 1st action since Week 4, leaving him as a risky WR3 in fantasy.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (foot, hamstring) put in a limited week of practice and is probable for Sunday’s game against the Bills. He should step right back in as the #1 option in the passing game, but he’s a risky fantasy option in his 1st action since Week 4. WR Jeremy Kerley (elbow) remains out.
Jets HC Rex Ryan expects to get WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) back for this Sunday's game against the Bills. He's been out since Week 4. It's unclear if his snaps will be limited this week. That makes him a shaky fantasy option, despite a plus matchup against a defense he torched for 154 yards and a score earlier this season.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Saints. He’s targeting a return after New York’s Week 10 bye. Jeremy Kerley, Stephen Hill and David Nelson will be the team’s top 3 WRs this weekend.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. He's yet to return to practice and probably won't be back until after New York's Week 10 bye. Stephen Hill and Jeremy Kerley will continue to serve as the Jets' top 2 WRs.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday. The team isn't expecting him to play against the Bengals this weekend, though, according to insider Brian Costello. The Jets have a Week 10 bye, so they might even elect to hold Holmes out until Week 11. We'd only recommend rostering him in deep fantasy leagues at this point.
Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Patriots. He’s yet to practice since going down in Week 4. Stephen Hill and Jeremy Kerley will continue to serve as New York’s top 2 WRs. Hill has WR3 upside with Pats top CB Aqib Talib (hip) unlikely to play. Kerley is just a desperation option in PPR leagues.
