Titans WR Lavelle Hawkins says he suffered a dislocated finger against the Bengals on Sunday. He told The Tennessean that bone actually came through the skin but that he got it stitched up and returned to the field. We're not sure exactly when the injury happened, but it didn't appear to affect his performance at all. Hawkins scored his 1st career TD amid 5 catches and 63 yards. If a few late mental lapses don't put him in the doghouse, he could be in for an uptick in fantasy value.
ESPN's Mel Kiper said Titans rookie WR Lavelle Hawkins, their second of two 4th-round picks, is the "best pick of Day Two in the NFl Draft." We shall see. Many believe Hawkins was more effective than Cal teammate DeSean Jackson down the stretch last year. Tennessee passed on countless stud WRs before they took Hawkins. In fact they passed on Mario Manningham and Andre Caldwell three times from the 2nd to 4th rounds.
