Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson will sign a 1-day contract and retire as a Charger on Monday. LT, of course, spent the first 9 seasons of his career in San Diego before finishing with 2 in New York. He’s 5th all-time with 13,684 rushing yards, and his 162 total TDs rank 3rd across all positions in league history. Tomlinson finished as a top-7 fantasy back in 8-straight years from 2001-2008, highlighted by #1 rankings in 2006 and 2007. LT will go down as the best RB of the 2000s and is a lock for the Hall of Fame.

Free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson says he's 95% sure he'll retire.  He did leave the door open, saying that he'd return for a 12th season if the right situation presented itself.  That situation would likely be a 3rd-down role on a championship contender (Packers).  LT hasn't drawn any interest on the open market though.  While he's remained a capable pass-catcher, Tomlinson has averaged just 3.7 yards per carry over the past 4 seasons.  The future Hall-of-Famer's career is likely over.

Free-agent RB LaDainian Tomlinson confirmed that he wants to play another season.  "I do want to continue to play," LT said.  "I still think I’m a viable option out of backfield."  The numbers would suggest otherwise.  Tomlinson averaged just 3.7 yards per carry last year and hasn't topped 4.1 since 2007.  He's still capable of producing in the passing game though -- he caught 42 balls in 2011 -- so he figures to draw some interest as a 3rd-down back.  But LT will only be a fantasy option in the deepest of PPR leagues.

Attempting to practice on Tuesday, Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson suffered a setback with his sprained knee.  Don't count on him playing against the Broncos on Thursday night.  That'd mean an increased workload for RB Shonn Greene, and a few extra touches for RB Joe McKnight.

An MRI on Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson's left knee revealed a sprained MCL.  He suffered the injury near the end of Sunday night's loss to the Patriots.  It's a relatively minor ailment, but LT is unlikely to be ready for this Thursday night's game against the Broncos.  In that case, RB Joe McKnight would step in as the change-of-pace back.  He'd likely only see a handful of touches, though, and won't be a recommended fantasy option.

Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson limped off the field late in Sunday night's game against the Patriots.  HC Rex Ryan confirmed afterwards that LT suffered a knee injury and will go for an MRI on Monday.  Tomlinson hasn't topped 10 touches since Week 3 and is only worth hanging onto in deep leagues.  We should have an update on his status this afternoon.

Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson once again confirmed that he's willing to take on a reduced role as the team's 3rd-down back this year.  "Let me do a lot of the pass catching and the blocking and kind of that third-down role and still be able to take some handoffs," LT said.  At this point, it couldn't be more clear that RB Shonn Greene is set to take over as New York's workhorse.  He's a good bet for 300+ carries.
