Cards DE Calais Campbell will miss his 3rd straight game today with a calf injury. Beyond taking out a strong IDP option, that hurts the Arizona team D for fantasy purposes. The Cardinals have tallied just 4 total sacks over the past 3 games. They fell short of 3 sacks just once in the season's 1st 8 games.
Cardinals DL Calais Campbell is inactive today against the Falcons because of a calf injury.
The Cardinals applied the franchise tag to DE Calais Campbell on Friday. This move comes as no surprise. GM Rod Graves said earlier this off-season that the team would do whatever necessary to keep Campbell from leaving as a free agent. The 6'8 DE enjoyed his best pro season in 2011 and should be considered a fantasy DL1 heading into 2012.
Cardinals GM Rod Graves told a radio audience Thursday that "Calais will be with us, rest assured." DE Calais Campbell is on the verge of unrestricted free agency but apparently won't get a shot to experience the free market. If there's no new deal before March, expect the franchise tag. As long as Campbell doesn't get too comfy with his new riches, also expect him to remain a strong IDP contributor.
