Bucs GM Mark Dominik told the St. Petersburg Times that Mason Foster could move to OLB this year. The staff apparently hasn't made any decisions on that front yet, but new DC Bill Sheridan is at least considering it. Foster opened his rookie season as the MLB starter but struggled plenty. To be fair, he faced a pretty tall order with an abbreviated training camp to learn the system and call the defensive plays. Foster's spot might also depend on what the Bucs do in free agency. Atlanta MLB Curtis Lofton is available, along with players such as Stephen Tulloch, London Fletcher and David Hawthorne. Any of them could be an option in the middle, as could former Buc Barrett Ruud. Foster remains a high-ceiling IDP because of his athleticism and could score inside or outside. We'll see how things shake out as we get into free agency and closer to OTAs.
Bucs MLB Mason Foster missed practice Wednesday with the same ankle sprain that limited him all last week. Foster started the win over the Saints but left before halftime and played just 24 of the team's 70 snaps. He'll be a big fantasy risk in Week 7 even if he returns to practice and starts against the Bears.
