re-signs with MinnesotaThe Vikings have re-signed WR Devin Aromashodu. He finished with just 26 catches for 468 yards and 1 TD in his debut season in Minnesota last year. Aromashodu possesses a solid size-speed combo, but his production has never matched his potential. He sits 3rd on the depth chart for now, but the Vikes are expected to add talent to the position through the draft.

signs with VikingsESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Vikings have signed former Bears WR Devin Aromashodu. It’s an interesting fit. Aromashodu offers a solid size-speed combo, and could be insurance in the event that Sidney Rice signs elsewhere. He's worth monitoring in training camp, and we just added him to our WR rankings.

inactiveBears WR Devin Aromashodu is a healthy scratch for tonight’s game against the Packers. Earl Bennett is expected to take over the 3rd WR role in his absence.

not versatile enoughBears OC Mike Martz cited a lack of versatility for the reason why WR Devin Aromashodu was on the field for only 1 offensive snap in Week 2. "Devin is a bit of a specialist in that he doesn't play the slot, which we asked him to do in the opener," Martz explained. "He's not comfortable in there. He's not familiar with it. All four of our other receivers do play the slot and the outside. Devin just plays the outside so his opportunities to play are reduced dramatically because of his limited knowledge of what we do at that position." Aromashodu should be on fantasy benches until he gets back in Martz's good graces.

one of three startersBears WR Coach Darryl Drake believes that WR Devin Aromashodu is just as much a starter as WRs Devin Hester and Johnny Knox. "All three of those guys are at the top of the depth chart," Drake said. "We've got three starters. There ain't no buts. You listen to what I said. We have three starters right now." To sort this out, Johnny Knox leads the way right now, and we’d say that Hester and Aroma are in a battle for the #2 spot.

pushing for playing timeBears beat writer Dan Pompei believes that "if [Devin] Aromashodu keeps producing the way he did Saturday, it doesn't make sense to keep him out of the starting lineup." True, but one of Aromashodu, Knox, and Hester is going to be the odd man out. Hester has the insurance of a big paycheck on his side and Knox is easily the best WR on the team at this point. We like Aromashodu, but chances are he’ll play victim to a numbers game in Chicago. OC Mike Martz runs plenty of 3-WR sets anyways, so he’ll see plenty of action.

turning it onBears WRs Johnny Knox and Devin Hester have been receiving tons of training camp buzz so far. But WR Devin Aromashodu was the star of last night's practice. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Aromashodu "caught everything thrown in his direction." Aromashodu is reportedly learning all 3 WR positions in OC Mike Martz's offense. We doubt he'll pass either Knox or Hester on the depth chart, but Aromashodu will be a force in the red zone. That being said, his current ADP of 8.03 is too pricey for our liking.

has huge upsideThe Bears are excited about what WR Devin Aromashodu can do with a full season in the starting lineup. "I don't know if he has a ceiling," WR Coach Darryl Drake said. "He's got an awful lot of ability and he and I have talked about it. What he's got to do is be consistent. I have talked to him and I am not afraid to say it, [Aromashodu] has been in the league almost five years. It's time." Aromashodu didn't see consistent playing time until Week 14 last year. But he finished the season with 282 yards and 4 scores over the last 4 weeks. He's slated to begin 2010 as the team's #1 WR.

Lil' Gonzalez didn't practice againColts WR Anthony Gonzalez (foot) missed practice again Thursday. He's out vs. Tennessee. Devin Aromashodu, who caught 3 passes for 42 yards vs. Houston last week, will have a busy day.

Colts add another WRThe Colts signed WR Devin Aromashodu to the practice squad. Ominous news for those hoping Marvin Harrison is ready to return. The Dolphins drafted Aromashodu in 2006 and Mel Kiper said he was the "steal of the 7th round." This guy was the 233rd player taken despite a gun-shot 4.35 in the 40 with a bulky 6'2/202 frame.
