Raiders QB Kyle Boller has a realistic chance to start this Sunday's game against the Broncos.  QB Jason Campbell suffered a knee injury last Sunday.  While the team hasn't made an official announcement, Campbell believes he may have suffered meniscus damage.  QB Bruce Gradkowski is also iffy for Week 7 with a shoulder injury.  If neither guy can go, Boller would draw the start.

The Raiders have signed QB Kyle Boller.  Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.  Boller has proven time and time again that he's not an NFL-quality QB.  But with JaMarcus Russell and Bruce Gradkowski as his competition, it wouldn't be shocking to see Boller on the field this coming season.

The Rams were forced to cancel Thursday's practice due to an outbreak of Swine Flu.  QB Kyle Boller and C Jason Brown are among those believed to be infected.

According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, QB Kyle Boller will start for the Rams on Sunday.  It makes sense considering QB Marc Bulger hasn't practiced all week.  At this point, Boller is actually an upgrade for the Rams WRs.  His big arm should especially help speedster Donnie Avery.

With the recent news that Kyle Boller has some kind of shoulder problem and might need season-ending surgery, the Ravens are forced to start Troy Smith or rookie Joe Flacco. Smith has been wiped out by tonsillitis & dehydration and missed a lot of crucial reps. Flacco has averaged a league-low 3.9 yards per attempt in scrub-action. We heard Dennis Green on FOX radio saying Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome needs to call up Daunte Culpepper's agent right now.That might not be a bad idea.

The Ravens placed Kyle Boller (shoulder) on IR Wednesday. Joe Flacco will start and it looks like Todd Bouman will be the temporary backup - until Troy Smith (tonsilitis/infection) is back in shape.  We bet the Ravens will end up signing another street vet like Quinn Gray or Kelly Holcomb at some point. What a mess.

All 3 Ravens QBs had extremely underwhelming performances in the team's preseason opener last night against New England. Kyle Boller started the game and completed 11 of 15 passes but turned the ball over twice. He was stripped by LB Adalius Thomas on Baltimore's 2nd possession and was intercepted by CB Shawn Crable in the 2nd quarter. QB Troy Smith followed Boller and promptly went just 5 for 12 for 74 yards. Rookie QB Joe Flacco finished the game and looked completely overwhelmed. He fumbled on his 2nd play and ended the game without a completion. Someone has to step up here to take some pressure off of the running game.

Baltimore traded up to take Delaware QB Joe Flacco at #18, shocking many analysts.  Flacco was projected as high as #30 to Green Bay but no one mocked him at #18. "It's awesome that they want me," Flacco said. "It's a great feeling. I was telling people that I was nervous about missing my phone call and then, there it was. I was surprised that they traded up to get me."  First Baltimore traded down when they lost out on Matt Ryan. They swapped out of #8 and took the Jaguars' #26 pick as well as two 3rd-round picks and a 4th rounder. Then, Baltimore moved up from #26 to #18 and gave Houston a 3rd and a 6th.  Flacco will compete with Kyle Boller for the starting job. Apparently Troy Smith is the odd man out. Flacco's resume includes opponents like Towson and Monmouth, though he has all the intangibles and a cannon arm.

The Baltimore Sun reports Ravens QB Troy Smith "might catch some action in the last two games if the Ravens are getting beaten badly. That's a real possibility with Seattle and Pittsburgh on the schedule." Last week Smith entered the Colts game late and ran in a 6-yard TD after everyone turned the game off.

Ravens HC Brian Billick confirmed Steve McNair's injury on WBAL 1090. "It's a subluxation of the shoulder, which basically means it keeps popping in and out," Billick said. "So, Kyle is starting this week." Boller gets a dandy matchup, the patchy Cleveland defense that invites almost 30 ppg from opponents.

The Baltimore Sun reports: "Reluctant all season to bench Steve McNair, coach Brian Billick might not have to take away the starting job from his struggling veteran after all. A newly discovered injury could do it for him. McNair developed substantial soreness in his non-throwing shoulder yesterday morning, an injury that could force Billick to turn to backup Kyle Boller."

Ravens beat writer Mike Preston says: "The Ravens should bring in [Kyle] Boller and let him do his usual stumbling and fumbling around. He'll misfire on those short passes in the flat and give us those high-arcing passes with that long, long windup. But if he hits a couple, with the Ravens' defense, they're good enough to be competitive with most teams in the NFL." Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the backup, but with the way Steve McNair played Monday night (it looked like he reinjured his back on the 6th play from scrimmage) they have no choice but to consider Boller. At 4-4 they're falling behind in the wild-card race.

Ravens QB Kyle Boller will start in week 7 vs. Buffalo despite his jammed knee. "We've got to get Steve [McNair] fully healthy," Brian Billick said. "It's in our best interest to come back after the bye [in week 8] with Steve fully healthy. I don't know that we're going to do that with just one week's time." Boller didn't throw a TD vs. St. Louis but he managed the game and a couple of his deep throws drew pass interference calls. He's 2-0 as a starter.

ESPN reports Kyle Boller took all the first-team snaps for the Ravens on Friday. Steve McNair (groin) will not play Sunday against the Jets. Boller's got a nice matchup at home and could make Brian Billick re-consider the future if he pulls out a nice win.

The Baltimore Sun believes Steve McNair (groin) will not be able to play this Sunday vs. the Jets. Kyle Boller would start if he can't go. We can't imagine using Boller in fantasy right now: there's no QBs on bye so surely you have a better option.
