Michael BushCHI -RBBush the Bears' goal-line back
Bears HC Marc Trestman named Michael Bush the team's goal-line back. "We’ve kind of isolated and declared Michael our goal-line running back," Trestman said Monday. Bush and Matt Forte have been splitting the goal-line work through 3 weeks. Forte has scored 1 and 5-yard TDs, while Bush has popped in a 1-yarder. The news obviously lowers Forte's fantasy ceiling, but he remains an obvious must-start. One of the most impressive RBs in the league through 3 weeks, Forte currently sits 4th at the position in fantasy points.
Michael BushCHI -RBplaced on IR
The Bears have placed RB Michael Bush (ribs) on IR, ending his 2012 campaign. He's been dealing with a nagging rib injury that's limited him to 15 snaps and 1 carry over the past 2 weeks. His loss means RB Matt Forte will continue to dominate backfield work, including goal line action. The problem is that he's scored on just 2 of 8 carries from inside the 10-yard line. Still, Bush's absence certainly isn't bad news for Forte's fantasy value the rest of the way.
Bears RB Michael Bush (ribs) is active for today's game against the Packers. He carried just once last week and isn't a fantasy option. Matt Forte will dominate backfield touches for Chicago.
Bears RB Michael Bush (ribs) is active for today's game against the Vikings. He only practiced on Friday, so it's tough to believe he'll see a whole lot of action. Bush isn't a recommended fantasy option, but his presence does put a cap on RB Matt Forte's upside.
Michael BushCHI -RBquestionable for Week 14
Bears RB Michael Bush (ribs) put in a limited practice Friday after missing the previous 2 days of work. He's listed as questionable and looks like a game-time decision for this weekend's meeting with the Vikings. At less than 100%, Bush shouldn't be in fantasy lineups. RB Matt Forte's ceiling will get a nice boost if Bush sits out though.
Michael BushCHI -RBout with rib injury
Bears RB Michael Bush (ribs) has missed practice the past 2 days. We haven't received an update on his status, but we have to assume he's in danger of missing this weekend's game against the Vikings. If Bush sits, RB Matt Forte's upside would get a nice boost.
Michael BushCHI -RBnot worried about shoulder
Bears RB Matt Forte admitted that he "banged up" his shoulder last week but said he'll be fine for Monday night's game against the Cowboys. "Nothing's wrong," he said. "I'm good." Owners can go ahead and pencil Bush into Week 4 fantasy lineups. We'll let you know if his status changes.
Michael BushCHI -RBmight have shoulder injury
Bears insider Vaughn McClure hears that RB Michael Bush is dealing with an AC joint injury in his shoulder. That's the same injury that is expected to shelve Bills RB C.J. Spiller this week. Bush didn't play much in the 4th quarter this past weekend, but the team reported no injury afterwards. They haven't said anything since either. Chicago's first practice in preparation for Monday night's game against the Cowboys will be tomorrow. We'll update Bush's status then. If he can't play this week, RB Kahlil Bell would step in as Chicago's lead back. RB Matt Forte (ankle) is not expected to be ready.
Michael BushCHI -RBto see "bulk" of red zone work
Bears OC Mike Tice confirmed that RB Michael Bush will receive the "bulk" of the red zone work this season. Bush goes 6'1, 245 pounds and scored on 7 of 14 carries from inside the 5-yard line with the Raiders last year. Now Bush is stepping into a role that produced 6 TDs for Marion Barber in 2011. Bush is a good bet to exceed that mark this season. Meanwhile, RB Matt Forte's fantasy value is not impacted by the news. He's never been a TD guy and wasn't expected to see the goal line work.
Michael BushCHI -RBpicking up offense quickly
Bears RB Michael Bush is picking up OC Mike Tice's offense quickly. “He’s such a pro," QB Jay Cutler said of his new backfield mate. "He does things the right way. He comes ready to work. He’s a smart guy. He picks up the system quickly." With RB Matt Forte staging a holdout, Bush has been getting valuable time with the 1st-team offense in minicamp. His upside only grows the longer Forte is absent.
Michael BushCHI -RBjoins the Bears
The Bears have signed RB Michael Bush to a 4-year, $14 million deal with $7 million in guaranteed money. Bush was the cream of the free-agent RB crop but drew less interest than we thought. Chalk it up to the decreased value being placed on the position around the league. Bush is a big-bodied pounder with surprising agility. While he faded down the stretch on his way to a career-high 256 carries last year, he still sports a 4.2 yards-per-carry average over 4 seasons. He's also shown improved pass-catching ability, hauling in a personal-best 37 balls in 2011. While he's not a threat to RB Matt Forte's starting job, Bush certainly puts a dent in his upside. At minimum, the former Raider figures to see plenty of work around the goal line. Bush's addition spells the end of RB Marion Barber's time in Chicago. Look for him to be released soon.
As expected, Raiders RB Michael Bush (ankle) is active for today's game against the Texans. He'll be available for his usual change-of-pace role behind RB Darren McFadden.
Michael BushCHI -RBpractices Wednesday
Raiders RB Michael Bush practiced on Wednesday. The ankle injury he suffered last week obviously isn't a concern. He'll continue serving as RB Darren McFadden's breather. Bush has scored in 3 straight games and is a viable RB3 or flex option in the heart of bye week season.
Michael BushCHI -RBsuffers ankle injury
Raiders HC Hue Jackson revealed in his post-game press conference that RB Michael Bush suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's loss to the Patriots. His status for Week 5 is up in the air. Bush has carried just 29 times for 101 yards this year, but he has popped in 3 short scores. If he's out, it'd give RB Darren McFadden a nice little boost.
Michael BushCHI -RBa restricted free-agent
Citing NFLPA records, Fox Sports' Adam Caplan reports that Raiders RB Michael Bush will be a restricted free-agent this offseason regardless of the new CBA rules. Bush was drafted 4 years ago, but he's reportedly only accrued 3 seasons of service because he spent his rookie campaign on the non-football injury list. Oakland tendered Bush at the highest level earlier this offseason, so if this report is true, he'll definitely be back in the Silver and Black in 2011.
Michael BushCHI -RBcharged with DWI
Raiders RB Michael Bush was arrested and charged with DWI early Saturday morning. This is his first run-in with the law since being drafted back in 2008, so we doubt he'll face any disciplinary action from the NFL. We'll update this story when we learn more.
Raiders RB Michael Bush (thumb) is active, as expected, for today's game against the Cardinals. He'll play a secondary role to RB Darren McFadden.
Michael BushCHI -RBprobable for Week 3
Raiders RB Michael Bush (thumb) practiced in full on Friday and is listed as probable. He'll make his 2010 debut this Sunday against the Cardinals. For now, he's not a fantasy option as he merely spells RB Darren McFadden. HC Tom Cable wouldn't rule out giving Run DMC 30 carries this weekend!
Michael BushCHI -RBpractices in full Wednesday
Raiders RB Michael Bush practiced in full on Wednesday for the first time since breaking his thumb in the preseason finale. He's expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. But with RB Darren McFadden playing out of his mind, Bush will likely only see a handful of touches. He's not a fantasy option at this point.
