These guys are the kickers of IDP fantasy football.
For the most part, their scoring will vary quite a bit. And everyone in your league can find 1 toward the end of the draft.
You might find our #1 DB come up as a good value on your MVP Board. Feel free to take the plunge or wait until much later. These DB tiers – along with what’s available at other positions when the time comes – should help to guide your decision.
Landon Collins, S, Giants
The exact points depended on your particular scoring system. But whatever the total, Collins likely dominated the position in your IDP league last year. His score would have ranked 2nd behind Reshad Jones in 2015, but both would have dominated every other lead DB at least back to Rodney Harrison’s 2000 season with the Chargers. Jones is coming off shoulder surgery and opened camp with a calf issue. So Collins becomes the easy #1.
Keanu Neal, S, Falcons
Reshad Jones, S, Dolphins
Jones hasn’t appeared to deal with any setbacks since the Dolphins activated him in early August. I shaved a game off his projection after the summer injury delayed his camp start. I think the injury history merits keeping that game off. But we also still have Jones projected for more fantasy points per game than Neal in our default scoring system. Pick whichever you like.
