DFS Showdown Tips: Patriots-Seahawks
Sunday night gives us a pair of successful franchises that each controlled their Week 1 matchups.
Russell Wilson and his wideouts dominated an overmatched Atlanta defense, but they now run into a Patriots group that ran out the league’s best pass D a year ago.
The Cam Newton Patriots went run-heavy to beat the Dolphins handily in their opener. The Seahawks sported a bottom-half run defense last week, so we might well see more of the same from New England. But who will get the touches at RB? And we can’t really expect 2 more rushing scores from the QB, right?
Let’s check the value for this Sunday night showdown …
Burkhead at $1000 makes a lot of sense in this showdown. He garnered just 7 touches (all carries) in the opener, but he matched Sony Michel and James White in Week 1 playing time. Burkhead even matched White in playing time on pass snaps (9 apiece). J.J. Taylor further complicates the New England backfield picture. He played just 9 total snaps (vs. 19 for the other 3 RBs) but has impressed. He’s also available for $800 in showdown salary.
Update: Now that White has popped up as a surprise inactive, Burkhead becomes an even stronger value. Taylor gains significant upside as well.
Nothing fancy on this side, as most of the biggest names lead the chart. Frankly, Carson might wind up an underrated piece by these charts if Seattle leans back toward the run the way it has most of the past 2 years. That wouldn’t be surprising, given New England’s strength in coverage and question marks in the LB corps.
