"Expert" auction drafts are hard to come by. So when we collaborated on a team for the Fantasy Index magazine Sunday night, we figured it'd be a good idea to bring our results and some observations straight to you. This 12-team auction started with a $200 bank and non-PPR scoring. The lineup: 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K. Each team had to fill out a 22-man roster to run best-ball style. (In case you're unfamiliar, that means the host site will automatically take your best lineup each week of the season.) On to the results ... QB Tony Romo, Cowboys $10 Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers $8 Jake Locker, Titans $1 This had to be our best position. As you've come to expect with a Draft Sharks team, we stayed patient at QB. As usual, it paid off. Every other team had at least 1 QB when we bought Roethlisberger, and Romo hit the board after that. For all the flak the Dallas passer takes year round, he finished top 7 last year and attempted the 3rd most passes in the league. And he has already showed upside beyond the 28 TDs of 2012. Don't be surprised if he reaches his position's top 5 this fall. With Mike Wallace gone, Roethlisberger doesn't look as good as he did heading into last year. But he makes for a strong backup. And Locker is a chance well worth taking for $1. His running ability and arm strength didn't go away. Plus, Tennessee added an athletic rookie WR in Justin Hunter. For comparison's sake, we got all 3 QBs for $1 less than Matt Ryan cost by himself.
