The FFPC is a different animal.
With TEs receiving 1.5 PPR — and other positions earning 1 — drafters are forced to alter their strategy.
Of course, that means TEs shoot up draft boards. This phenomenon helps produce whacky and often unpredictable draft results.
While we have sortable FFPC ADP data thanks to data scientist Jason Phelps, it’s helpful to map out a round-by-round plan beforehand. That’s the theme today with another version of our Perfect Draft series.
For FFPC formats, we’re starting 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 2 Flex, 1 K and 1 DEF. And remember that, as always, the MVP Board will help you along the way.
Note: ADP examined is from “best ball” and lineup setting leagues/drafts over the past 10 days.
Picks 1, 2, 3 or 4
RBs: David Johnson, Le’Veon Bell
WRs: Antonio Brown, Julio Jones
Zeke Elliott would have filled this space. Now, he’s out of the Round 1 conversation following a 6-game suspension.
In order, we’re targeting Johnson, Bell, Brown and Jones.
RBs: Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott
WRs: Dez Bryant, Amari Cooper, T.Y. Hilton
TEs: Travis Kelce
Kelce’s your top option here, but ADP suggests he’s likely gone by the mid-2nd.
This is also the spot we’d strongly consider Elliott. Jared tackled the impact of his suspension, which isn’t as crushing as you might think. Zeke could even have his ban reduced on appeal.
RBs: Ezekiel Elliott, Ty Montgomery, Isaiah Crowell, Lamar Miller, Leonard Fournette
WRs: Brandin Cooks, Demaryius Thomas, DeAndre Hopkins, Keenan Allen
TEs: Jordan Reed
If you enter this round with 2 RBs, aim for a WR.
Jordan Reed is tempting here, but his current toe injury — and his history of concussions, among other injuries — means you’d absorb massive risk.
