I played David Johnson in tournaments last week. I’m not a good tournament player.
DJ had a nice day — 101 total yards and 2 TDs. But he wasn’t in any winning tourney lineups that I saw. When a guy is that expensive and that highly owned, he needs to have a historical day to help you win a tourney. Something like, say, 40 DraftKings points.
We saw a similar outcome the week prior with Ezekiel Elliott. He was expensive. He was the chalk. He scored 23.7 DK points. And he wasn’t in many tourney-winning lineups.
So as scary as it might be, fading the high-priced chalk in tournaments is usually the right play.
On to the Week 11 picks …
