TE: C.J. Fiedorowicz, Texans
Let’s recycle last week’s selection here—and not out of laziness or just because he makes sense again.
The primary message, of course, is that Fiedorowicz simply makes sense as a weekly starter at this point, especially in PPR leagues. He has drawn 7+ targets in 5 of the past 6 games and caught 4+ passes in 6 of the past 7 games.
Since Week 4, Fiedorowicz sits tied for 4th among TEs in targets, tied for 5th in receptions and tied for 5th in receiving yards. This week brings a Chargers D that ranks 13th against TEs in fantasy points allowed and 14th in Football Outsiders’ coverage ratings against TEs. So it’s not a tremendous matchup. But 2 of San Diego’s past 4 opponents have gotten TDs from TEs, and the Chargers have yielded 5 individual outings of 4 catches or more.
And that brings us to the secondary message: Don’t get too cute with the matchups. If something’s working at TE for you, then run with it.
Last week’s pick: C.J. Fiedorowicz (TE6 PPR, TE10 non-PPR)
