Week 13 Free Agent Focus

By DS Staff 9:11pm EST 11/29/20

Baker Mayfield, QB, Browns

Blind-bid recommendation: 5-7%

Finally in decent weather Sunday, Mayfield threw for 258 yards and 2 scores in a plus matchup vs. the Jaguars. He’ll be in another good spot in Week 13 against the Titans’ 27th-ranked QB defense. Outside of those 3 bad-weather games, Mayfield has thrown multiple TDs in 6 of 8 games.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Dolphins

Blind-bid recommendation: 3-5%

Fitzpatrick was serviceable against the Jets, tallying 257 yards and 2 TDs while playing turnover-free ball. The Fins are thin at WR with Preston Williams sidelined, but Fitz did well to hit TEs Mike Gesicki and Adam Shaheen for scores. He has now accounted for 2+ scores in 5 of his past 6 starts. Fitz will be a viable fantasy starter again next week vs. the Bengals if he remains under center.

Latavius Murray, RB, Saints

Blind-bid recommendation: 50-60%

Murray exploded for 124 yards and 2 scores in Sunday’s blowout win over the Broncos. He has now carried 12 and 19 times in QB Taysom Hill’s 2 starts. Perhaps consecutive lopsided wins have motivated the Saints to lighten the load for Alvin Kamara, who is playing through a foot issue. Even if that's the case, the run-heavy offense and matchup with Atlanta will make Murray a RB3 or flex play in Week 13.

Frank Gore, RB, Jets

Blind-bid recommendation: 30-50%

Gore’s 1st game without La’Mical Perine produced 74 yards on 18 carries. Backups Ty Johnson and Josh Adams combined for only 3 attempts, while Gore also saw 3 of 5 RB targets. He’s stuck on 1 total score for the year, but the future Hall of Famer will remain a flex option next week against the Raiders.

Devontae Booker, RB, Raiders

Blind-bid recommendation: 20-50%

Booker will step in as the Raiders’ lead back if Josh Jacobs’ ankle injury costs him time. Booker has been impressive in change-of-pace duty this season, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Week 13 brings a nice matchup vs. the Jets.

Alexander Mattison, RB, Vikings

Blind-bid recommendation: 20-75%

Dalvin Cook tweaked an ankle in Sunday’s win over the Panthers. He was able to return but didn’t quite look like himself. We’ll keep a close eye on him this coming week, but Mattison is worth stashing just in case Cook is held out of Week 13’s plus matchup vs. the Jaguars. If you have Cook and Mattison's available, then he should be your top priority.

Jordan Wilkins, RB, Colts

Blind-bid recommendation: 10-20%

He carried just 6 times for 22 yards Sunday as the Colts played from behind the Titans. Wilkins at least added a 3-35 receiving line on 4 targets. More importantly, he gets a matchup with the Texans’ 31st-ranked RB defense in Week 13. If RB Jonathan Taylor remains on the COVID list for that one, Wilkins will be in play.

Sammy Watkins, WR, Chiefs

Blind-bid recommendation: 10-25%

Watkins didn’t have a big game in his return Sunday, catching 4 balls for 38 scoreless yards. But Watkins saw 7 targets, giving him 7+ in 4 of his 5 healthy games this season. Anyone getting that type of volume from Patrick Mahomes is a fantasy consideration.

Denzel Mims and Breshad Perriman, WRs, Jets

Blind-bid recommendation: 5-20%

Returning from a shoulder injury, Sam Darnold targeted Mims and Perriman 8 times each in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. The duo accounted for nearly 60% of Darnold’s targets, while both reached 65 yards. Mims and Perriman supply big-play upside for a Week 13 date with the Raiders. Vegas might remain without starting CB Damon Arnette, who suffered a concussion Sunday against the Falcons.

Nelson Agholor, WR, Raiders

Blind-bid recommendation: 5-20%

Agholor caught 5 balls for 54 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons. That’s not a huge line, but it marks his 2nd straight game with at least 5 receptions and 3rd among the past 4 with more than 50 receiving yards. Agholor entered the week averaging just 3.8 targets per game but leads the team with 6 TDs. The Raiders are coming off a terrible offensive day but get the Jets in a Week 13 get-right spot.

Kyle Rudolph, TE, Vikings

Blind-bid recommendation: 5-10%

Rudolph ranked 2nd on the team with 8 targets in Sunday’s win over the Panthers, catching 7 for 68 yards. Irv Smith’s combo of groin and back injuries kept him out of Thursday and Friday practices before costing him the game. That seems to make him at least questionable for a Week 13 matchup with Jacksonville. If Smith remains out, Rudolph could land inside the top 12 of our Week 13 rankings.

Dalton Schultz, TE, Cowboys

Blind-bid recommendation: 3-5%

Schultz’s 5-24 line on Thanksgiving gives him 4+ catches in 4 straight games and 5 of his last 6. That’s all it really takes to be fantasy-relevant at TE right now. Schultz gets positive matchups in 3 of the next 4 weeks vs. Baltimore (Week 13), Cincinnati (Week 14) and Philadelphia (Week 16).

Deep-League Options:

Ito Smith, RB, Falcons

Blind-bid recommendation: 15-25%

Brian Hill was the popular play with Todd Gurley out, but Smith drew 12 carries to Hill’s 13 and out-targeted him 5-1. Smith rushed for 65 yards (5.4 per carry) and a TD, adding 4 catches for 10 yards. If Gurley remains out, it looks like Smith is at least the PPR handcuff.

Gabriel Davis, WR, Bills

Blind-bid recommendation: 15-20%

Davis filled in for John Brown to post a season-high 79 yards and 1 score on 3 catches in the win over the Chargers. The TD came on a trick play from Cole Beasley. But Davis also showed his downfield chops by high-pointing a pass from 44 yards out. He’s a legit talent, and with Brown on IR, he’ll remain in an upside spot alongside Josh Allen.

Olabisi Johnson and Chad Beebe, WR, Vikings

Blind-bid recommendation: 5-10%

Johnson and Beebe each drew 7 targets (and caught all 7) in Sunday’s win over the Panthers, which saw Kirk Cousins attempt a season-high 45 passes. This obviously isn’t going to happen often in the Minnesota offense. Cousins entered the day averaging just 27.5 attempts per game. But if Adam Thielen remains on the COVID list for Week 13’s matchup with Jacksonville, then Johnson and Beebe will find another upside spot. Johnson has tended to step in as the #2 WR over the past 2 seasons and opened this year starting opposite Thielen before Justin Jefferson entered the lineup.
