It’s fantasy playoff time. Don’t overthink your lineup decisions and go out on too thin a limb in search of optimal matchups. (Drew Brees gave us all a lesson there last weekend.)
But if you need a play at any of these positions for Week 15, then here you go …
QB: Derek Carr, Raiders (37.5% owned in ESPN leagues)
Ryan Tannehill felt like a cheat pick in this category last week, and he was. The fact that he’s now up over 50% ownership on ESPN (and thus ineligible for this spot), though, shows that it wasn’t mere inactivity that made him so available last week.
If you jumped on the Tannehill train at any point, just keep riding vs. the Houston D that allowed 309 and 3 to Drew Lock last Sunday.
If you didn’t, and you don’t have access to other former streaming-levell QBs that dot our top 12 this week, then maybe Carr can help.
He’ll face a Jaguars defense that has sunk all the way to 29th Football Outsiders’ overall efficiency, including 21st against the pass. Really, Jacksonville just looks like it has flopped as a team, allowing 26, 33, 42, 28 and 45 points in 5 consecutive losses of 17+.
Carr’s coming off his best performance in 5 weeks: 263 yards and 2 TDs in a loss to the Titans.
If you need to dig a little deeper, then Mitchell Trubisky (20.6% owned) and whoever starts for the Giants against the Dolphins this week look like viable options.
Last week’s pick: Ryan Tannehill (QB6 finish)
