If your fantasy league plays Week 17, you’re used to contending with the possibility of teams sitting or pulling starters early. This year is no different. Here are the teams who might rest starters in the finale:
Cowboys — Dallas has locked up the NFC’s #1 seed. Owner Jerry Jones has said that his team won’t rest starters, but it wouldn’t be surprising to at least see RB Ezekiel Elliott’s workload scaled back.
Giants — The G-Men are locked into the NFC’s #5 seed. They can knock the rival Redskins out with a win on Sunday, but it’s unclear if that’s enough motivation to play guys like Eli Manning and Odell Beckham the entire game.
Steelers — Pittsburgh is locked into the #3 seed in the AFC playoffs. Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown could all be held out or limited vs. the Browns on Sunday.
Texans — They’re locked into the AFC’s #4 seed. It’d make sense to hold a banged-up Lamar Miller out of Sunday’s finale in Tennessee. DeAndre Hopkins could also be held out or limited.
Dolphins — The Fins have clinched a Wild Card spot but could still claim the #5 seed with a win against the Patriots and a loss by the Chiefs in San Diego. But don’t be surprised if Jay Ajayi, who’s carried 71 times over the past 3 weeks, is held out or limited.
