Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs ($7,500)
DraftKings just can’t make Mahomes expensive enough.
After a historic 2018 season, he’s opened the 2019 campaign by averaging 398 yards and 3.3 TDs per game. We project him for a modest 327 yards and 2.6 TDs — and he still pops as the best dollars per point play.
Mahomes is in play for both cash games and tournaments.
Daniel Jones, Giants ($5,300)
If you’re looking to go cheap at QB — never a bad idea in cash games — Jones is your man.
Is their risk using a QB in his 2nd career start? Sure. But that’s mostly negated by 3 things:
- Price - Jones is QB16 in DraftKings salary.
- Rushing ability - Jones ran for 1,323 yards and 17 TDs over 3 seasons at Duke and earned a 79th percentile SPARQ score at the Combine. He posted a 4-28-2 rushing line last week.
- Matchup - Jones gets a Redskins squad that sits 30th in DK points allowed to QBs and 27th in Football Outsiders’ pass defense rankings.
