David Johnson, Cardinals ($7,500)
He’s been priced up enough that he’s probably not an optimal cash-game play. But you’re gonna want DJ in your tournament lineups.
Although he’s underwhelmed on the ground so far, Johnson’s passing game usage has been awesome. Outside of that Ravens game when he was dealing with a wrist injury, he’s seen 7, 9 and 11 targets. Johnson’s volume could even climb this week with WRs Christian Kirk and Damiere Byrd out.
And the matchup is pristine. The Bengals rank 22nd in Football Outsiders’ run defense DVOA and are allowing 4.8 yards per carry to RBs. Plus, they sit 30th in FO’s RB coverage rankings and have coughed up the 2nd most catches and the most receiving yards to RBs.
DJ has the potential to top 100 yards both on the ground and through the air this week.
