A high-scoring defense gives you a big boost in any fantasy week. But what goes into such a performance? Well, let’s check on the ingredients through 5 weeks.
There have been 40 double-digit performances by team defenses in ESPN’s primary scoring system so far. Of those 40 performances:
-- 34 have come from teams that won their games
-- 24 have come from home teams
-- just 2 of the road performance have targeted the same host (Arizona)
Overall, these offenses have surrendered the most double-digit D/ST weeks:
The top 4 in that list rank 27th, 32nd, 31st and 11th (respectively) in the league in scoring. They sit 21st, 32nd, 31st and 16th in yards per play.
For the whole group, the average rank in scoring so far is 21.7, with a median of 23.
