Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Chargers RB Gus Edwards (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. It could be an early-week rest day for the veteran, but the Chargers are coming off their bye week. We'll see if Edwards gets back on the field tomorrow. If he misses Sunday's game vs. the Broncos, we could see rookie RB Kimani Vidal make his regular-season debut.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Chiefs. He was limited in practice all week after aggravating his high-ankle sprain in last week’s loss to the Steelers. Herbert will be without starting OTs Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater today and isn’t a recommended starter in any fantasy formats.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) is expected to start Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs, "barring a pregame setback," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Herbert will play through his high-ankle sprain for the second straight week, despite getting pulled early in the loss to the Steelers. He'll be without starting OTs Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater this weekend. Herbert sits outside the top 25 QBs in our Week 4 Rankings.
Chargers WR Josh Palmer (elbow, calf) practiced all week and is off the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs. Palmer shouldn’t be in Week 4 fantasy lineups, but his return adds target competition for WRs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. He was limited in practice all week. Herbert is pushing to play in this one, but the team could opt to hold him out with a Week 5 bye upcoming. We’ll keep you posted on the situation, but Herbert won’t be a recommended fantasy play even if he suits up on Sunday.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He's pushing to play vs. the Chiefs this weekend. We'll see if the team clears him to do so. Herbert will barely be a QB2 if he tries to again play through this high-ankle sprain.
Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that an MRI on QB Justin Herbert's ankle revealed that the injury is "progressing." Herbert is out of his walking boot. It's still unclear whether he'll start this weekend's game against the Chiefs. Two things that might factor into that decision:
QB Taylor Heinicke would presumably get the start if Herbert misses the Chiefs game. We'll keep you updated on the situation.
The NFL has suspended Chargers S Derwin James one game for "repeated violations" of the safety rules. James was most recently flagged for an illegal hit in the loss to the Steelers. His seven such penalties since 2018 tie him for second-most in the NFL, but he has reached that number in fewer games than other "leaders" in the category. James appealed the suspension, but it was upheld. So he'll miss Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Elijah Molden looks likely to fill in.
X-rays on Chargers QB Justin Herbert's ankle came back clean, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He'll continue to be monitored this week," Rapoport adds.
Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins came back to earth in Sunday’s loss to Pittsburgh, rushing 15 times for 44 yards.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert aggravated his ankle injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Steelers. He's officially questionable to return, but The Athletic's Daniel Popper tweets that Herbett "has a hat on, limping badly on sideline. Would be shocked if he returns to this game." QB Taylor Heinicke has replaced Herbert.
Chargers Edge Joey Bosa left after the first defensive play Sunday against the Steelers. He returned later in the quarter but was gone again before the end of the quarter. The team initially called him questionable to return with a hip injury before ruling Bosa out for the game.
Chargers WR Josh Palmer (calf, elbow) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Steelers. His absence likely means more snaps for WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko, but neither is a fantasy option. WRs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey could pick up extra targets with Palmer out.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Steelers. He was reportedly a game-time decision and won’t be close to 100% for this one after suffering a high-ankle sprain last week. The Chargers have QBs Easton Stick and Taylor Heinicke active as insurance. Herbert is a high-risk Week 3 fantasy play without much upside in this tough matchup.
There's "optimism" Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) will be able to play vs. the Steelers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Herbert only got in a limited practice on Thursday this week as he battles what he said is a high-ankle sprain. ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Herbert is "preparing to play" today but that a final decision won't come until pregame warmups. Schefter adds that the Chargers will likely have Herbert and QBs Easton Stick and Taylor Heinicke active. We'll get Los Angeles' inactives around 11:30 am ET, but Herbert is not a recommended starter in any fantasy leagues this week.
Chargers Edge Joey Bosa should be ready for regular duty Sunday against the Steelers. A back injury limited him to just 29% snap share in the Week 2 win over the Panthers. Bosa said earlier this week he expected to be back to full strength for Week 3, though. He got back to a full practice Friday and didn't appear on the week's final injury report. That has boosted Bosa into the top 20 of our Week 3 DL rankings.
Chargers WR Josh Palmer (calf, elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Steelers. He didn’t practice all week, so he’s likely on the bad side of 50/50. Palmer’s absence would likely mean more snaps for WRs Derius Davis and Simi Fehoko, but neither is a fantasy option. WRs Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey could pick up extra targets.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers. He practiced on Thursday or Friday but revealed Friday that he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Herbert said he's “getting better every day" but wouldn't guarantee that he'll play on Sunday. We'll look for further updates on his status and get Los Angeles' inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. But Herbert is not a QB1 option and is a shaky play even in 2-QB and superflex leagues.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. HC Jim Harbaugh said yesterday that he expected Herbert to play vs. the Steelers this weekend -- and this puts him on track to do so. Herbert won't be at 100%, though. And the challenging matchup leaves him out of QB1 consideration.
Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that he expects QB Justin Herbert (ankle) to play vs. the Steelers this weekend. Herbert did not practice on Wednesday but is "getting better every day," Harbaugh said.
