The Lions placed S Tavon Wilson on IR Monday after he injured his left shoulder for the 3rd time, according to the Detroit Free Press. Wilson initially hurt the joint in training camp and then aggravated it early in the season. The latest re-injury came in the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Vikings. Wilson's absence should turn S Miles Killebrew back into a starter and IDP option. We've boosted him up our Rest of the Way rankings.

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) isn’t listed on the final Week 12 injury report. He’ll play against the Seahawks on Sunday after missing San Francisco’s last game. Kittle should take back over as the lead pass-catching TE but would be a desperation fantasy play.

Niners DL Solomon Thomas (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Giants. It's his 2nd straight game out with a sprained knee ligament. CB K'Waun Williams (quad) is active but not much of a factor for IDP owners or the 49ers defense in general.

49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) is out for Week 10, HC Kyle Shanahan announced on Monday. The rookie hobbled through the injury in yesterday's loss to the Cardinals but will now miss a plus matchup against the Giants. Kittle's absence leaves San Francisco with TEs Garrett Celek and Cole Hikutini.

The 49ers lost another player to injury in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. S Jaquiski Tartt broke his right wrist and is likely to miss the rest of the season. The defense lost starting S Jimmie Ward to a season-ending arm fracture just the week before. We'll see about the team's plan for replacing Tartt.

The 49ers have acquired QB Jimmy Garoppolo from the Patriots in exchange for a 2018 2nd-round pick. So a guy who once was considered a potential Tom Brady successor now becomes San Francisco's latest crack at finding a franchise QB. He's set to hit free agency this offseason, but we'd imagine that the 'Niners have a new contract lined up for him. Garoppolo has been consistently impressive in preseason action and completed 71.2% of his passes for 496 yards, 4 TDs and 0 INTs in 2 starts last season. He has a new offense to learn under HC Kyle Shanahan but figures to be under center for San Francisco within the next few weeks. Garoppolo projects as a significant upgrade for this offense the rest of the way. We wouldn't bother adding him to fantasy rosters now outside of leagues of 16+ teams or 2-QB leagues, though.

The 49ers lost DL Solomon Thomas to a knee injury and S Jimmie Ward to a forearm injury in Sunday's loss at Philadelphia. Neither player returned. Ward might be done for the year after suffering a fracture. We have yet to see specifics on Thomas' injury. He's likely headed for further evaluation Sunday night and/or Monday.

Update: Preliminary word is an MCL sprain for Thomas, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.

NFL Network reports that Washington CB Josh Norman is expected to play Sunday against the Cowboys. He missed the past 2 games with a rib fracture and damage to the lining of 1 of his lungs. He's likely to shadow Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, who posted lines of 7-102 and 5-72 (on 19 combined targets) in 2 games against Washington last year.

Washington has ruled CB Josh Norman out for Monday night's game against the Eagles. The team had hoped to get Norman back from his rib injury but will play its 2nd straight game without him. Norman's absence doesn't matter much for IDP leagues, but it helps the fantasy outlook for Eagles lead WR Alshon Jeffery. The Philly wideout caught just 3 of 7 targets in the Week 1 victory at Washington, with Norman covering him most of the day. CB Bashaud Breeland (knee) and LB Mason Foster (shoulder) are questionable for the game.

Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 7 injury report. He’ll play in Sunday night’s plus matchup against the Patriots. Sanu has averaged 7 targets in 3 full games this season and is in the WR3 discussion this week.

Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) returned to practice on Wednesday. It puts him on track to play against the Patriots on Sunday night. Sanu will be in the WR3 mix for that plus matchup.

Niners LB Reuben Foster (high ankle sprain) and S Eric Reid (knee sprain) are questionable for Sunday's game at Washington. Foster told the team website that he hopes to play in the game, while the team site reports Reid "should" return this week. Each is an option for IDP lineups if active. Reid's return makes Jaquiski Tartt tough to trust.

Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Now 2 weeks into a 2-3 week timetable, consider him questionable for Week 7. His absence on Sunday makes WR Taylor Gabriel and TE Austin Hooper more intriguing fantasy fliers.

Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. It's not a good sign coming out of the Week 5 bye. It's also not a surprise, though, after ESPN's Vaughn McClure reported that Sanu would miss 2-3 weeks. He seems unlikely to play against the Dolphins on Sunday. That'd figure to mean more action for WR Taylor Gabriel and TE Austin Hooper.

ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports that Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with his hamstring injury. Atlanta has a Week 5 bye, so Sanu figures to miss a game or 2. He averaged a healthy 7 targets per game over the first 3, so his absence will create extra opportunities for guys like WR Taylor Gabriel and TE Austin Hooper.

Niners S Jaquiski Tartt is active for today's game against the Cardinals after clearing the league concussion protocol. He's a nice upside play for IDP lineups this week.

Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Bills with a hamstring injury. With WR Julio Jones also out, Atlanta is down to Taylor Gabriel and Justin Hardy as the top 2 WRs.

The 49ers have labeled S Jaquiski Tartt questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals because of his concussion. According to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group, Tartt cleared the league protocol Friday, which would seem to be the last step toward Tartt playing Sunday. Bet on him being there, but we'll update Tartt's status Sunday afternoon.

49ers S Jaquiski Tartt left late in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game against the Rams. He took a shot to the back of his head from a teammate's foot. The Niners deemed him questionable to return with a "head injury," which almost always means a concussion check. Tartt -- who entered the week with a neck issue -- had been filling in for injured S Eric Reid (knee).

49ers safeties Jaquiski Tartt (neck) and Jimmie Ward (hamstring) are both active for tonight's game against the Rams. Both were reportedly expected to start but entered the day officially questionable. If you're looking to use 1 in your IDP lineup, opt for Tartt. The injury situations obviously add risk to both, though.
