Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (quad) is inactive for tonight's game against the Packers, as expected. Mike Davis gets another game as lead back.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore was activated from the COVID list this week and is set to return for Saturday night’s game against the Packers. He racked up 27 targets over his last 3 games and is safe to get back into Week 15 fantasy lineups.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (thigh) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Packers. He's not going to play. Mike Davis will get another game as Carolina's lead back vs. a Green Bay defense ranked 28th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.

Panthers HC Matt Rhule said Tuesday that he doesn't expect RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, quad) to play against the Packers on Saturday. CMC was listed as a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough. The team is clearly still hoping he can play again this season, but look for Mike Davis to get another game as lead back vs. Green Bay.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, quad) has a "chance" to play against the Packers on Saturday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. McCaffrey will reportedly practice on Tuesday and be evaluated from there. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, quad) is officially inactive for today’s game vs. the Broncos. He’s reportedly hoping to play again this season, but we’ll monitor his practice participation this coming week. RB Mike Davis gets another start today.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, quad) wants to play again this season. The report makes no mention of whether McCaffrey will be healthy enough to play -- or whether the team will bring him back. We'll have to keep an eye on his status this coming week. Mike Davis gets another game as Carolina's lead back vs. Denver today.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore remains on the COVID list as of Friday afternoon and isn't expected to play vs. the Broncos on Sunday, ESPN's David Newton reports. Moore has averaged 7.4 targets per game this season, so his absence frees up a bunch of opportunity for WRs Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder, quad) is listed as doubtful for this weekend's game against the Broncos. HC Matt Rhule said again on Friday that McCaffrey isn't expected to play. We'll see if he can make it back for Week 15. Mike Davis gets another game as Carolina's lead back and sits in high-end RB2 territory in our Week 14 Rankings.

Panthers HC Matt Rhule said Thursday that he doesn't expect RB Christian McCaffrey to play against the Broncos this weekend. "But I'll continue to monitor it," Rhule added. After being limited on Wednesday with his thigh and shoulder injuries, McCaffrey didn't practice on Thursday. He should obviously be on fantasy benches right now. McCaffrey's absence would put RB Mike Davis back in the lead role. He's averaged 13.7 carries and 4.3 targets over his last 3 starts.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey was limited in Wednesday's practice and listed with his previous shoulder injury and a new thigh injury. HC Matt Rhule said afterward that CMC "tweaked" his thigh last week and that it "tightened up" on him today. We'll obviously keep a close eye on this situation over the next few days, but RB Mike Davis should remain rostered in all fantasy leagues.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Panthers WR D.J. Moore has COVID. We don't know exactly when Moore tested positive, but consider him a long shot to play against the Broncos this weekend. WR Curtis Samuel, meanwhile, landed on the COVID list as a "close contact" but hasn't tested positive as of now. If he can avoid a positive test, he should be cleared to face Denver.

The Panthers expect to get RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) back for Sunday's game against the Broncos, according to ESPN's David Newton. "There’s nothing to make me think he’s not [playing]," HC Matt Rhule said Monday. We'll keep an eye on CMC's practice participation throughout the week. He immediately returned to a workhorse role when he came back from the ankle injury in Week 9, handling 18 carries and 10 targets.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore has been placed on the COVID list. It's unclear if he tested positive for the virus or was just a close contact of someone who did. Moore is also recovering from his Week 12 ankle injury, so his status for Sunday's game against the Broncos is murky at best.

Panthers HC Matt Rhule said Monday that X-rays on WR D.J. Moore's ankle came back clean. Rhule added that Moore has a shot to be able to play coming out of Carolina's Week 13 bye. We'll keep an eye on him when the Panthers return to work next week.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore injured his right leg late in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game in Minnesota. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Moore's injury is to his ankle, the team announced.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) won't travel with the team to Minnesota and is out for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He at least got in 3 limited practices this week and seems likely to return after the Week 13 bye. Mike Davis will again operate as Carolina's lead back tomorrow.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Vikings. HC Matt Rhule said Friday, though, that he's "pessimistic" about McCaffrey's chances of playing. It'd certainly make sense for Carolina to hold him out with a Week 13 bye coming up. Look for Mike Davis to get another game as the Panthers' lead back.

Jets QB Sam Darnold (shoulder) will start against the Dolphins on Sunday, HC Adam Gase announced. Darnold has been out since Week 8 and has averaged just 174 yards and .5 TDs passing in 6 games this season. He's a low-end QB2 for Week 12, but Darnold's return should be good news for WR Jamison Crowder.

Panthers HC Matt Rhule said Monday that he'll have to see Wednesday how far along RB Christian McCaffrey is in his recovery from a shoulder injury. Rhule called him "week to week," according to Joe Person of The Athletic. Mike Davis has started the past 2 games in McCaffrey's absence and would get another run at Minnesota this Sunday if McCaffrey remains out.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter adds that McCaffrey is "considered unlikely" to play Sunday.
