Brock Osweiler Fantasy Football News 2019

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Packers. He doesn't seem close to a return. QB Brock Osweiler will get another start this weekend but is just a low-end QB2. He's gone score-less in 2 straight while completing just 59% of his passes.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is out for Sunday's game against the Jets. The early rule-out suggests he's not close to returning -- although HC Adam Gase did say that Tannehill has been throwing with trainers. Brock Osweiler gets another start this weekend but is just a low-end QB2 for fantasy.

Dolphins HC Adam Gase confirmed on Monday that QB Brock Osweiler will start Thursday night's game against the Texans. QB Ryan Tannehill remains without a timetable for return from his shoulder injury. Osweiler has been surprisingly solid over the past 2 weeks, completing 67% of his passes, averaging 8.3 yards per attempt and tossing 5 TDs vs. 2 INTs. Still, he's no better than a low-end QB2 for Week 8.

The Dolphins have ruled out QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) for this weekend's game against the Lions. Getting ruled out on Wednesday suggests there's a good chance Tannehill misses action beyond this week. QB Brock Osweiler gets another start this Sunday after a stupefying 380-yard, 3-TD outing last weekend. He's still not a recommended fantasy play.

Dolphins HC Adam Gase labeled QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) "day-to-day" in his press conference on Monday. Gase added that he won't have a good read on Tannehill's Week 7 availability until later in the week. QB Brock Osweiler played better than even Mrs. Osweiler expected in Sunday's win over the Bears, completing 28 of 44 passes for 380 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs. That could make Miami a bit more cautious in bringing Tannehill back. You should continue to avoid this situation in fantasy lineups.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game against the Bears. His status beyond this week is uncertain. It’ll be Brock Osweiler under center today vs. 1 of the league’s best defenses. We’d avoid the Dolphins passing game altogether.

Broncos QB Brock Osweiler will start today's game against the Redskins, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's relatively good news for Denver's skill-position guys considering QB Paxton Lynch is the alternative. Denver reportedly wants Lynch to start the season finale if his injured ankle is healthy enough.

Broncos HC Vance Joseph will inform his team on Wednesday that QB Brock Osweiler will start this weekend's game against the Eagles, according to insider Mike Klis. Osweiler, of course, started his career in Denver and actually played OK in relief of Peyton Manning in 2015, completing 61.8% of his passes with 10 TDs and 6 INTs. He bombed in Houston last year, though, posting a 59% completion rate with 15 TDs and 16 INTs. We'll see whether he proves to be an upgrade over QB Trevor Siemian, but Osweiler isn't a Week 9 fantasy option.

After listening to Broncos HC Vance Joseph's press conference on Tuesday, insider Mike Klis believes it'd be a "huge surprise" if QB Brock Osweiler isn't named the team's Week 9 starter. QB Trevor Siemian has been abysmal after a solid start to the season, tossing just 3 TDs vs. 8 INTs over his last 5 games. Osweiler, of course, was an utter disaster in Houston last year, so we can't consider him an upgrade. There's a good chance that we see QB Paxton Lynch, who's still recovering from a shoulder injury, at some point this season. The whole situation is a major concern for WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

The Broncos have signed QB Brock Osweiler. It's a homecoming after he began his career in Denver. There's a new HC and OC since he left after the 2015 season, though. Osweiler will back up QB Trevor Siemian at least until QB Paxton Lynch (shoulder) is available.

The Browns have released QB Brock Osweiler. He supposedly made a push for the starting job in August, but this was always the most likely scenario. Osweiler will latch on elsewhere as a backup. In Cleveland, meanwhile, Cody Kessler will back up rookie DeShone Kizer.

Browns HC Hue Jackson named QB DeShone Kizer his starter on Sunday. It's been trending in this direction all August. Kizer has been Cleveland's most impressive QB this preseason, averaging 7.2 yards per attempt with 1 TD and 1 INT -- plus 44 yards and another score on the ground. The rookie will be volatile both in real life and fantasy. But his combination of big arm and rushing ability could turn him into a spot-start option at some point this season.

Browns HC Hue Jackson announced that QB DeShone Kizer will start the 3rd preseason game against the Bucs on Saturday night. He's moved from 3rd in the pecking order in the 1st exhibition, to 2nd in game #2 and now 1st. Jackson stopped short of naming Kizer his regular-season starter, saying only he's "positioning himself well to earn the starting job." But if the rookie plays this weekend like he has in his first 2 outings, he'll be under center on September 10 against the Steelers.

Browns HC Hue Jackson announced on Wednesday that QB Brock Osweiler will start the team's 2nd preseason game on Monday night against the Giants. The veteran struggled to 6-of-14 passing in the opener, while DeShone Kizer shined. But Cleveland isn't ready to hand the keys to the rookie just yet. Jackson did add that Kizer will be the 2nd QB in the game on Monday -- a promotion from last week, when he was QB #3. It sure seems like QB Cody Kessler is out of this competition. Kizer remains a strong bet to start the most games for the Browns this season and still has a shot to win the Week 1 job.

DeShone Kizer was the 3rd Browns QB into Thursday night's preseason opener, but he was easily the most impressive. The rookie finished 11-of-18 for 184 yards, highlighted by a 45-yard TD to WR Jordan Payton. He also picked up 12 yards on 3 carries. QB Brock Osweiler got the start but completed just 6 of 14 passes for 42 yards. QB Cody Kessler was next in line, finishing 5-of-10 for 47 yards. Clearly the most talented QB in Cleveland, bet on Kizer making the most starts this season. He still has a shot to win the Week 1 nod.

Browns QB Brock Osweiler will start the team's preseason opener against the Saints on Thursday. So they weren't kidding when they said Osweiler is in the mix to start. Rookie DeShone Kizer has reportedly been the best QB early in camp, but he struggled in the team's scrimmage on Friday. “A lot goes into our evaluation but it’s always going to be about efficiently and effectively running the offense," HC Hue Jackson said. "You want your starter to be able to do that despite any circumstance. Brock hasn’t really gotten any first team reps and this will give him that chance. We look forward to seeing what he can do with this opportunity throughout the week and against the Saints." Cody Kessler will be the 2nd QB in the game, followed by Kizer and Kevin Hogan. This competition is far from over, of course. But it appears to be a true 3-man race.
