The Vikings have released K Kaare Vedvik -- a surprise after they traded a 5th-round pick for him earlier this month. Dan Bailey sticks as Minnesota's K.
The Vikings shipped a 5th-round pick to the Ravens in exchange for K Kaare Vedvik. That's a significant price to pay for a K. Vedvik isn't just any K, though -- he's a punter, too. The former soccer player has nailed 12 of 13 FG attempts over the past 2 preseasons while also averaging 47.6 yards per punt. It's unclear if Vedvik will kick, punt or do both for Minnesota. But we should avoid K Dan Bailey in fantasy drafts until we find out.
Sustained winds around 20 mph with gusts over 40 are expected for today's Vikings-Jets game. That'll impact the deep-passing and kicking games. We've moved Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold, Dan Bailey and Jason Myers down the Week 7 Rankings. Cousins remains in QB1 territory, though, because he tends to throw a bunch of short passes anyway. WRs Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs should also remain locked into fantasy lineups.
The Vikings have released K Daniel Carlson. The 5th-round rookie missed 3 FGs in Sunday's tie against the Packers. Carlson will be replaced by longtime Cowboys K Dan Bailey, who is 2nd in NFL history with an 88.2% career FG conversion rate. Bailey immediately becomes a fantasy option this week against the Bills.
The Cowboys have surprisingly cut K Dan Bailey after he spent 11 years with the team, opting to go with Brett Maher. Maher originally signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent way back in 2013, then spent a couple of weeks with the Cowboys after the Jets cut him. Maher then kicked in the CFL for 4 seasons, connecting on 78% of FG attempts. Bailey had been a reliable fantasy kicker, but we wouldn't trust Maher among the top 12.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that K Dan Bailey is dealing with a "sensitive" hamstring. He wasn't listed on the Week 14 injury report but missed 2 long FGs and an XP (the 1st of his career) in the win over the Giants. We'll keep an eye on Bailey this week, but he's a bit of a risky Week 15 fantasy option.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey (groin) is active for today's game against the Chargers. Fill-in K Mike Nugent, meanwhile, is inactive. That indicates Dallas isn't worried about Bailey making it through the game, so you shouldn't either if you were planning on using a Dallas kicker.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey (groin) put in a limited week of practice and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Chargers. We'll find out if he's active around 3 pm ET tomorrow. We'd try to avoid using Bailey in fantasy lineups in his 1st action in a month.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey will miss 4+ weeks with his groin injury, VP Stephen Jones said Friday. The team hasn't placed Bailey on IR, so they obviously expect him back in fewer than 8 weeks. Still, he isn't worth carrying on fantasy rosters. Mike Nugent will kick for Dallas while Bailey is sidelined.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey is expected to miss "several weeks" with the groin injury he suffered in Sunday's game against the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bailey should be dropped from fantasy rosters. We'll see who Dallas signs to replace him.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey injured his groin in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the 49ers and will not return. The Cowboys went for 2 after their 3rd TD and figure to do the same the rest of the way.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey (back) is active for today's game against the Bengals. He's fine to use in fantasy lineups if you were waiting on him.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey (back) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Bengals. He only put in 1 limited practice on Friday. The Cowboys worked out other Ks this week but have yet to sign one and are "still hoping" Bailey plays on Sunday. We'd avoid the situation in Week 5 fantasy lineups.
Cowboys K Dan Bailey is dealing with a back injury, HC Jason Garrett revealed. It's unclear how long he's been playing through it, but Bailey has missed FGs in back-to-back weeks. He missed just 2 all last season on 32 tries. Garrett admitted that adding another K this week is "certainly an option." We'll keep an eye on the situation, but Bailey owners should be lining up a backup plan.
