Derek Wolfe Fantasy Football News 2021

The calf strain that knocked Ravens DE Calais Campbell out of Sunday's game "will likely caust him to miss multiple weeks," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Campbell will reportedly have further tests to determine the severity, and the injury "does not sound long term." But you'll at least need to line up a Week 10 replacement for your IDP lineup. Campbell's snaps got spread around after he left the Colts game. DE Derek Wolfe might have been the greatest beneficiary, playing a season-high 75% of the snaps. He didn't see much boost on the stat sheet, though, with just 3 tackles, no tackles for loss and 0 QB hits.

Ravens CB Marcus Peters (thigh) and DE Derek Wolfe (elbow) are active for today's game against the Bengals. Each entered the day questionable but are fine to use at appropriate IDP levels. Each player presents a boom-bust profile against a Bengals offense with upside in both coverage and pressure stats.

Ravens DE Derek Wolfe is officially questionable vs. the Bengals on Sunday, listed with an elbow injury. He put in full workouts Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday. The elbow issue is a carryover from the previous week, but HC John Harbaugh revealed Friday that Wolfe missed the win over Washington because of COVID-like symptoms with the DE and his wife. Wolfe did not turn out to have COVID and should be ready to play against Cincinnati. We'll confirm his status Sunday morning.

Ravens DE Derek Wolfe is inactive for today's game at Washington with an elbow injury. That should push Jihad Ward into the starting lineup.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe will finish his season on IR after dislocating his left elbow in Sunday's win over the Chargers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Wolfe set a new career high with 7 sacks and had been hot lately. Denver's D-line doesn't offer much IDP intrigue with Wolfe down.

Broncos LB Josey Jewell (hamstring) and DE Derek Wolfe (ankle) are active for today's game against the Jaguars. Neither is a high-level IDP play. We'll see about Jewell's playing time in the 2nd game back for fellow ILB Todd Davis. S Kareem Jackson (hamstring) is inactive.

Broncos LB Josey Jewell is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He returned to a limited practice Friday after missing the 1st 2 days with a hamstring injury that knocked him out of Week 3 a little early. We'd try not to use Jewell even if he's active Sunday. Denver also deemed S Kareem Jackson questionable after he missed the entire practice week with a hamstring issue. DE Derek Wolfe, meanwhile, is questionable with an ankle injury.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe suffered a "really bad sprain" in his right ankle in Saturday's practice, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. The injury also reportedly included a ligament tear. Wolfe still said it wasn't as bad as initially feared at that he hopes to be back to 100% by Week 1. We'll see if he gets there. At the least, it's another blow to a defense that will miss OLB Shane Ray into the regular season and lost DE Billy Winn to an ACL tear.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe (neck) is active for tonight's game against the Chiefs. He's fine to use as you normally would in your IDP league.

The Broncos have ruled S T.J. Ward (concussion) and LB Brandon Marshall (hamstring) out for Sunday night's game against the Chiefs. DE Derek Wolfe is also questionable with an illness. He also aggravated a neck injury in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. The team will re-evaluate him Saturday, according to The Denver Post. With most of the league playing that day and just 1 game following Denver-K.C., most IDP owners should probably opt for another D-line option.

11:56pm EST 12/18/16

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe left Sunday's game early with a neck injury and did not return. We'll see what his outlook is for next Sunday night's game at Kansas City.

The Broncos have ruled DE Derek Wolfe (elbow) and CB Aqib Talib (back) out for Sunday's game at New Orleans.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe suffered a hairline fracture in his right elbow in Sunday night's loss to the Raiders and will miss "some time," according to Denver7's Troy Renck. It's obviously not yet clear just how long Wolfe will be out, but he's OK to drop for immediate help in most IDP leagues. Wolfe has enjoyed a good season to date, but that includes a replaceable 4.5 sacks through 8 games. Denver gets a bye after the Week 10 trip to New Orleans. It would be nice if fantasy owners could get Wolfe back at any point during an upside post-bye stretch that finds Kansas City, Jacksonville and Tennessee in consecutive weeks. If you can stash him down the bench in a deeper IDP league, that wouldn't be a bad move. DE Billy Winn is expected to start while Wolfe is out.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe left Sunday night's game against the Raiders with an elbow injury. He rode the cart to the locker room but was deemed just questionable to return. We'll keep an eye on the severity of the issue.

3:07pm EDT 9/18/16

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe (neck) is active for today's game against the Colts. He entered the weekend questionable but saw limited practice time this week. There's some re-injury risk, but we'd use Wolfe as normal, given that he's not a top-shelf IDP lineman to begin with.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe left the field with the help of trainers Wednesday after suffering an ankle injury. According to multiple reports, HC Gary Kubiak said he thought Wolfe merely rolled the ankle. Wolfe was reportedly bearing weight through both legs even as he left the field. This doesn't seem like it'll turn into anything serious, but we'll keep an eye on the status of this IDP sleeper. Denver already lost starting DE Vance Walker for the season to an ACL tear earlier this week.

Broncos DE Derek Wolfe has been ruled out for Sunday's trip to Kansas City after a mysterious illness struck him on Friday's ride to the airport.  Wolfe was reportedly hospitalized and will miss the trip.  That will leave more snaps for Robert Ayers, Malik Jackson and Von Miller (on pass-rushing downs) to split.
The Broncos will likely go without MLB Wesley Woodyard (neck) and right DE Robert Ayers (shoulder) against Jacksonville on Sunday.  Obviously, that means they'll probably lose the game now.  In reality, it boosts the IDP profile of Denver weak-side LB Danny Trevathan, who should spend more time on the field in sub packages.  Veteran journeyman Paris Lenon is expected to start in the middle but won't play 3 downs as Woodyard does.  Derek Wolfe and Shaun Phillips will man the starting DE spots and likely see a few more snaps in Ayers' absence.
