John Oehser of the team website reports that the Jaguars will start Donald Payne at MLB for the 3rd straight game Sunday against the Raiders. That's noteworthy because ESPN's Michael DiRocco reported earlier in the week that the team was considering a switch to Joe Giles-Harris. DC Todd Wash referred to Payne Thursday as the starter. We've moved Payne back up our Week 15 LB rankings. You should start him in your IDP lineup in most cases, following a pair of double-digit tackle outings in the middle of arguably the league's worst run defense and a team that has lost 5 straight games by 17+ points.
ESPN's Michael DiRocco reported Wednesday that the Jaguars are considering a switch at MLB against the Raiders. He says Jacksonville might start Joe Giles-Harris instead of Donald Payne in the middle. Payne racked up 13 and 15 tackles in place of Myles Jack the past 2 weeks and would be a strong IDP starter in the same role. The LB changes should also include Austin Calitro starting on the weak side, where Quincy Williams landed on IR this week. If we hit the weekend not sure about roles and playing time between Payne and Giles-Harris, then Calitro becomes the upside play among Jaguars LBs. We'll keep an eye out for updates on the situation as we head into the weekend. Consider adding Calitro now in deeper IDP leagues, though -- especially if you were planning to start Payne.
