The Chargers have signed WR Dontrelle Inman, who was released by the Patriots over the weekend. Inman spent the first 3+ seasons of his career with the Chargers, including a 58-810-4 2016 campaign. With nothing behind Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Travis Benjamin on Los Angeles' WR depth chart, Inman could quickly emerge as the #4. Even then, though, he'd need an injury to 1 of the guys in front of him to have a shot at fantasy value.
The Patriots have signed WR Dontrelle Inman to a 1-year deal. The 30-year-old caught 28 balls in 9 appearances with the Colts last year and has a 58-catch season on his resume back in 2016 with the Chargers. In New England, Inman will compete with Phillip Dorsett, Demaryius Thomas and Maurice Harris for snaps behind Julian Edelman and 1st-round rookie N'Keal Harry.
Colts WRs T.Y. Hilton (ankle) and Dontrelle Inman (shoulder, finger) are active for today's game against the Texans. Hilton has been playing effectively through this ankle injury for the past month and remains a high-upside fantasy play vs. a Houston defense he routinely torches. Inman and Chester Rogers will serve as the Colts' #2 and #3 WRs today.
Colts WR Dontrelle Inman is expected to play today against the Texans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Inman's officially questionable with shoulder and finger injuries but in limited practices all week. Inman caught 9 balls over the past 2 games and scored in each. He finished 5 of his past 8 games with 4+ receptions.
Colts WR Dontrelle Inman (shoulder, finger) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Texans. WR Zach Pascal (knee) is also listed as questionable. He was sidelined on Tuesday, limited on Wednesday and a full-go on Thursday. We're expecting both of these guys to play but will find out for sure around 3 pm ET on Saturday. WR Ryan Grant (toe) has been ruled out.
Colts WR Dontrelle Inman (shoulder) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’d take on a bigger role against the Cowboys on Sunday if T.Y. Hilton can’t go. But even then, Inman would be a desperation fantasy play.
Colts WR Dontrelle Inman (shoulder) is out for Sunday’s game against the Texans. He had been serving as Indy’s #2 WR, a job that now figures to go to Ryan Grant. He’s still not a recommended fantasy play, though.
Bears WR Dontrelle Inman (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. He put in a full practice on Friday, so the groin shouldn’t be much of an issue. With 9 catches on 13 targets over the last 2 weeks, Inman is on the WR4 radar.
Bears WR Dontrelle Inman (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Eagles. He put in a full practice on Friday, though, so he should play. With 9 catches on 13 targets over the last 2 weeks, Inman is on the WR4 radar.
The Bears have acquired WR Dontrelle Inman from the Chargers in exchange for a 7th-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Inman was buried in Los Angeles' loaded WR corps but could quickly carve out a role in Chicago, where the Bears have been trotting out guys like Tanner Gentry and Tre McBride. Inman posted a 58-801-4 line on 97 targets last year. He's worth monitoring, but we wouldn't be adding him to fantasy rosters yet. The Bears have been historically run-heavy since QB Mitchell Trubisky took over.
Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman recently had core muscle surgery and is expected to be sidelined for 6 weeks, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. That timeline would cost him the rest of offseason workouts but have him back on the field for the start of OTAs. Inman turned in a career-best 58-810-4 line for an injury-ravaged Chargers offense last year. If the WR group is healthy this year, though, he figures to be 5th on the depth chart behind Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin.
On the same day they announced their relocation to Los Angeles, the Chargers named Anthony Lynn their new HC. Lynn has 17 seasons of experience in the NFL, but all but 1 of those were spent as a special teams or RB coach. Lynn was promoted to OC in Buffalo prior to Week 3 of this past season and was then named interim HC for the season finale. The Bills averaged 25.8 points per game under Lynn's watch -- a mark that would have ranked 8th league-wide. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Chargers are hoping to retain OC Ken Whisenhunt and hire Gus Bradley as DC.
Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman caught 6 passes for 71 yards and a TD in Sunday's loss to the Panthers. His 7 targets ranked 2nd on the team behind TE Antonio Gates, while his receptions tied RB Kenneth Farrow for 2nd on the team. Inman led all Chargers in receiving yards. It was his 4th game among the past 5 with 5+ receptions and 7th straight contests with 5+ targets. He also scored for the 3rd consecutive contest. Inman has become a solid weekly PPR WR3 or flex option.
Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) is inactive for today’s game against the Dolphins. Tyrell Williams and Dontrelle Inman will serve as San Diego’s top 2 WRs. Both are fantasy options — Williams a WR2 with upside and Inman a fine WR3.
Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) didn’t practice all week and is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. San Diego is finally going to sit him until that sprained PCL heals up. Benjamin’s absence turns Dontrelle Inman into a WR3 option in the plus matchup.
The Chargers have placed WR Keenan Allen on IR. It officially ends his season after the Week 1 torn ACL. The good news is that Allen will have had just about 12 months to recover before the start of the 2017 campaign. He'll still be only 25 years old at that point and remains a strong dynasty hold. San Diego will move forward with Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams and Dontrelle Inman atop the WR depth chart, although TE Antonio Gates and RB Danny Woodhead could compete for the target lead the rest of the way.
Chargers WR Keenan Allen suffered an apparent right knee injury in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Chiefs. He had to be carted off the field. This obviously looks like a significant injury, but we'll update his status when we learn more. His absence would leave San Diego with WRs Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams and Dontrelle Inman atop the WR depth chart. TE Antonio Gates would probably be the biggest beneficiary.
The Chargers have signed WR James Jones, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's a sign that WR Stevie Johnson will miss significant time with the torn meniscus he suffered on Sunday. Jones is 32 but still had gas left in the tank last year, posting a 50-890-8 line in Green Bay. He caught 73 balls the previous season for the Raiders, although they went for just 666 yards (9.1 YPC). Jones is probably the favorite for the Chargers' #3 gig as long as Johnson is sidelined. He'll need to hold off Dontrelle Inman, Tyrell Williams and Javontee Herndon.
Chargers WR Stevie Johnson suffered a torn meniscus in Sunday's practice and will undergo surgery soon, according to NFL Network's Michael Silver. It's "unclear" whether the injury will end Johnson's season, Silver adds. It certainly sounds like the 30-year-old is looking at an extended absence, though. He's not worth rostering in redraft fantasy leagues. Johnson is mostly a short-range possession receiver for San Diego, so his absence figures to benefit Keenan Allen, Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead most. Dontrelle Inman, Javontee Herndon and Tyrell Williams will battle to take Johnson's #3 WR spot.
