Dustin Hopkins Fantasy Football News 2020

The forecast for today's Redskins-Bills game calls for winds between 15 and 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph. It won't be as windy as it was last week, but this is still enough to give slight bumps down to the passing and kicking games. Hopefully you were already avoiding Washington's passing game (including Terry McLaurin) in rookie QB Dwayne Haskins' 1st start. QB Josh Allen and WR John Brown remain fine plays on the Buffalo side. We'd try not to use either K in this game.

Redskins K Dustin Hopkins (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Texans. We’ll see if Washington adds another K, but this is a situation to avoid in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Redskins K Dustin Hopkins has missed the first 2 practices on the week with a groin injury. Washington has worked out multiple Ks this week but has yet to sign one. We'll keep an eye on the situation, but you should look elsewhere in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Redskins K Dustin Hopkins (hip) has been activated from IR. He'll step back in for K Nick Rose, who was released. Hopkins drilled 9 FGs and 12 XPs in 5 games before going down. He's a viable Week 15 fantasy option.

The Redskins have placed K Dustin Hopkins (hip) on IR. He'll be replaced by K Nick Rose, a former undrafted free agent who connected on just 71.1% of his FG attempts at Texas. He also missed a FG and an XP with the 49ers this preseason. Rose can't be trusted in Week 7 fantasy lineups.

Redskins K Dustin Hopkins won't play against the Eagles next Monday night, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hopkins has a partially torn muscle in his right hip and is considered "week-to-week." Washington is working out free-agent Ks on Tuesday and will make a move shortly thereafter. Feel free to dump Hopkins from your fantasy roster.

Redskins K Dustin Hopkins is dealing with a right hip injury and is considered "week-to-week," HC Jay Gruden said Monday. The team will work out Ks this week, in case Hopkins can't play against the Eagles. Likewise, fantasy owners should be lining up replacement options.

The forecast for tonight's Packers-Redskins game calls for 17-18 mph winds with gusts of 40+. That's certainly bad news for Ks Mason Crosby and Dustin Hopkins. We also made slight adjustments down to our projections for both passing games.

Windy conditions are expected for today's Redskins-Ravens game. The forecast calls for winds of 20-25 mph with gusts up to 35-40 mph. That's certainly enough to impact the passing games, particularly deep threats like DeSean Jackson and Mike Wallace. We've nudged both those guys down the Week 5 rankings. Ks Dustin Hopkins and Justin Tucker might also be hindered.

Washington released K Kai Forbath and signed K Dustin Hopkins, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Forbath gets the quick hook after missing 1 of 2 attempts Sunday vs. Miami. Hopkins has yet to attempt an NFL kick and won’t be a fantasy option thanks to a shaky offense.

The Bills have placed K Dustin Hopkins (groin) on season-ending injured reserve.  Dan Carpenter will continue to fill in.  He’s nailed 11 of 12 kicks thus far, but Buffalo’s QB change will make him a shaky fantasy option going forward.

Bills K Dustin Hopkins injured his groin in Monday's practice.  His status for Week 1 appears to be in doubt because the Bills signed K Dan Carpenter. We'll see who ends up getting the Week 1 nod, but it's a situation to avoid in fantasy.

The Bills have released K Rian Lindell.  The veteran has spent 10 of his 13 NFL seasons in Buffalo.  The team decided to go young this offseason, though, spending a 6th-round pick on K Dustin Hopkins.  The Florida State product is the NCAA's record holder for career points scored by a K.  He converted just 78.6% of his FGs for his career, although that number jumped to 82.5% over his final 2 seasons.  On Buffalo's rebuilding offense, Hopkins isn't a recommended fantasy pick.

Bills insider Joe Buscaglia says rookie Dustin Hopkins, “has a good chance” at winning Buffalo’s kicking battle.  They didn’t draft him in the 6th round for nothing.  Cutting incumbent Ryan Lindell would save the Bills some cash and might actually give them an upgrade.  Hopkins boasts a stronger leg, a major benefit in Ralph Wilson Stadium.  The winner still isn't desirable in fantasy leagues.
