Giants rookie S Xavier McKinney broke his left foot and will have surgery Wednesday afternoon, according to ESPN's Field Yates. There's no word yet on his recovery timeline, but we should expect McKinney to miss at least the beginning of the regular season. Julian Love and Nate Ebner look like candidates to replace McKinney in the lineup. Fellow starter Jabrill Peppers also gains tackle upside from the injury. He's the only 1 among those 3 we'd target in IDP drafts right now.
The Giants have placed S Jabrill Peppers (back) on IR, ending his season. That likely locks in Julian Love as the starter in Peppers’ place the rest of the way. He played nearly every snap in the first game following Peppers’ injury
The Giants announced Monday that S Jabrill Peppers has a transverse process fracture. That likely means he'll miss at least Sunday's game against the Packers. This is the same injury that has cost Lions QB Matthew Stafford the past 3 games. But it's also an injury that cost Raiders QB Derek Carr just 1 game back in 2017. We'll see about the severity of Peppers' injury. You'll at least need a Week 13 replacement.
Giants S Jabrill Peppers left Sunday's loss to the Bears early with a hip injury. He'll have an MRI Monday to determine the severity, according to ESPN.
The Browns have reached a deal with the Giants to acquire WR Odell Beckham Jr. The deal will send 1st- and 3rd-round picks plus S Jabrill Peppers to the Giants. Beckham has 5 more years on a contract that he signed just last August, though there's no guaranteed money beyond 2020. The move obviously gives Cleveland a new #1 WR, one of the league's most talented. Beckham and WR Jarvis Landry will challenge each others' target counts in an offense that finished 2018 with lower passing volume. The Giants, meanwhile, sport no WR ahead of Sterling Shepard at the moment. We'll see what they do in free agency and the draft to address a position that's suddenly desperately shallow. Peppers joins a secondary that will also add Antoine Bethea in free agency. If Peppers and Bethea emerge as the 2 starters, the Giants might sport a lack in deep-coverage ability. The big fantasy winner here, by the way, is Cleveland 2nd-year QB Baker Mayfield.
Browns S Jabrill Peppers (neck) and DT Larry Ogunjobi (biceps) are active for today's game against the Bengals. Each entered the day questionable. Each is just a lower-level IDP option.
The Browns activated S Jabrill Peppers off the PUP list Monday after he passed his physical, according to Cleveland.com. Peppers missed the 1st 4 days of practice while dealing with a groin injury but should have plenty of time to settle back in as a starter. We'll see if Cleveland's usage of Peppers improves and helps him turn into a fantasy factor in his 2nd season.
Browns S Jabrill Peppers opened training camp on the PUP list because of a groin strain. it doesn't appear to be a serious injury, but Peppers might have to fend off Derrick Kindred for the strong safety spot. Missed time won't help that pursuit. We'll see how long he remains out.
The Browns plan to play 1st-round pick Jabrill Peppers at SS, while also finding him roles on offense and special teams, according to beat writer Scott Petrak. Peppers grabbed just 1 INT over 3 years at Michigan but displayed impressive versatility. That included spending most of his junior season at LB. Don't be surprised to see Peppers in the box often, which should help his tackle numbers. He'll certainly be worth a look in IDP drafts -- whether you're playing dynasty or redraft.
The Browns spent their 2nd pick of Round 1 on Michigan's Jabrill Peppers. A safety primarily, Peppers lined up at 15 different positions over the 2016 season, according to ESPN. He'll likely play safety almost exclusively in Cleveland. Peppers grabbed just 1 INT over 3 seasons with the Wolverines but also delivered 13 tackles for loss as a LB last year, including 3 sacks. There's IDP upside as long as Peppers' name doesn't boost his fantasy ADP too high.
