The Seahawks have ruled DE Jadeveon Clowney out for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Clowney has been dealing with a core muscle injury for several weeks. He also battled illness this week, missing practice Wednesday and Thursday. Clowney returned for limited participation Friday, though, and initially drew a "questionable" tag for the Carolina game. But the team quickly downgraded him. Clowney's absence is a significant blow to a D-line that also has DE Ezekiel Ansah questionable (neck). Elsewhere on the defense, LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) will miss his 2nd straight game, and CB Shaq Griffin (hamstring) is questionable.
Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney (core) is active for tonight's game against the Rams. DE Ezekiel Ansah (neck) is inactive. Use Clowney as you normally would in your IDP lineups.
Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney (core) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. He finished the week with a full practice, though, after limited workouts the previous 2 days. And Clowney played through the issue last week. Expect him to play against the Rams.
Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney (core) is active for tonight's game against the Vikings after missing Week 13. LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) and DT Jarran Reed (ankle) are also active after hitting the day questionable. All are ready for IDP use if you waited for them.
Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney (core), LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) and DT Jarran Reed (ankle) are questionable for Monday night's game against the Vikings. Clowney put in limited workouts Friday and Saturday. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Clowney practiced "very lightly" Saturday but that he "should be fine" and "ready to go" for Monday night. Clowney said he'd leave his playing time up to coaches but that he's "looking to play, not just be held back" when he hits the field. Clowney seems worth the risk if you're weighing him vs. another D-lineman for IDP lineups. Kendricks sat out Saturday after being limited Friday and doesn't look worth waiting for. Reed put in limited practices Friday and Saturday after sitting out Thursday. He's not a strong option to begin with but seems to be trending in the right direction if you need him.
Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney (hip) is inactive for today's game against the Eagles. That's a big blow for a team defense that already didn't look like a strong play. There's no significant upside IDP play in Clowney's wake.
Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Clowney missed the full week of practice and spent Friday away from the team getting treatment for the hip injury that kept him out. ESPN reports that Clowney will be a game-time decision for the game. We'll check his status Sunday morning, but it sounds like you should make alternate plans for your IDP lineup.
Multiple outlets report that the Seahawks have agreed to a deal with Houston that will send Jadeveon Clowney to Seattle for a 3rd-round pick and a couple of lower-level players. Ian Rapoport reports that Clowney is said to be in the best shape he has been for years and should be ready to jump into the Seattle lineup right away. Moving to the Seahawks’ 4-3 base defense should mean DL eligibility for Clowney across IDP leagues — if you’re league hosting site makes adjustments this late in the year
Texans DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney doesn't plan to report until just before the start of the regular season, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Houston franchise-tagged Clowney in the offseason, and then the 2 sides failed to reach a longer-term deal before the deadline to do so with tagged players. He's not officially holding out, because Clowney isn't under contract until he signs the franchise tender. Clowney has overcome early-career durability issues to appear in all but 1 game over the past 2 seasons. But missing all of camp and the preseason adds some risk on that front. Clowney's value to the Texans D is greater than his IDP worth, though he's more valuable where he qualifies as a DL.
The Texans are placing the franchise tag on DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney. The 26-year-old posted 9 and 9.5 sacks the past 2 seasons. He carries much more IDP value in fantasy football leagues that give him DL eligibility -- and Clowney probably should in most places. Pro Football Focus counted his most snaps, by far, at the "right end outside" position -- the spot opposite the "LEO" pass-rusher spot that has gained prominence as former Seattle defensive coaches have spread around the league. Where he's merely a LB, Clowney figures to remain more of an IDP spot starter.
Texans OLB/DE Jadeveon Clowney (groin) is active for today's game against the Broncos. He entered the day questionable but looks fine for normal IDP usage in a solid pass-rushing matchup.
Texans OLB Jadeveon Clowney (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos. He didn't appear on the Wednesday injury report but then was limited Thursday and Friday. Clowney says he's ready to play against the Broncos, though. We'll confirm his status Sunday.
Texans OLB/DE Jadeveon Clowney (back) will not play today against the Titans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That takes 1 of the best players off the Houston defense, but Tennessee's multitude of offensive injuries -- plus the Texans' remaining talent -- still leaves plenty of fantasy upside for Week 2. Houston remains 1 of the strongest team-defense options for the week.
Update: Clowney is officially inactive.
Texans DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney (knee) is active for today’s game against the Jaguars. HC Bill O’Brien said during the week that he expected Clowney to play, but the star pass rusher missed all 3 days of practice. He’s risky as an IDP but worth playing in DL slots where eligible.
Texans DE/OLB Jadeveon Clowney (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He missed practice all week, but HC Bill O'Brien said Friday that he expects Clowney to play, according to the Houston Chronicle. We'll confirm his status Sunday morning.
Texans OLB/DE Jadeveon Clowney returned to the practice field Thursday for the 1st time in more than a week. The Houston Chronicle reports that he had been working off to the side while dealing with leg soreness. If that's the case, we're not sure why other Texans beat writers treated Clowney's situation like a mystery or why HC Bill O'Brien refused to update the star defender's status. In any event, the fact that he's active again is good news and should leave IDP drafters selecting Clowney as they have been to this point.
Texans OLB/DE Jadeveon Clowney hasn't practiced in "more than a week," according to ESPN's Sarah Barshop. But she adds that HC Bill O'Brien says Clowney is not injured. Clowney also missed Houston's 2nd preseason game. We'll be curious to see if he returns to the field this week or whether we get more info on the situation.
